The situation in Kaunas revealed that the coronavirus makes everyone suspicious

As the number of coronavirus cases rises to unprecedented levels in society, there is growing concern. Several things get suspicious, not to mention a runny nose that has started in a neighbor.

Sick but hidden?

One of the women who worked in the buildings of “Urmo prekybos miestelis” applied to the portal kauno.diena.lt.

She fears that a colleague who rents a store in one of the warehouses is trying to hide the health of some of her employees from those around her.

The suspicion was caused by up to three salespeople who changed at the same store in a week.

For a supposed coronavirus diagnosis? Upon contacting the editorial office, the Kaunas resident stated that she had knowledge that the husband of the first employee had allegedly infected COVID-19. So it stands to reason that the wife and the two employees who replaced her in turn followed her later.

“A saleswoman came out, the hostess was silent. The other came out, she was silent again. She says she went on vacation, but it turns out that it is not true. No one takes any action. And here it is scary. , and they are all hidden and silent, ”she said, unafraid to joke to a woman working under the same roof nearby, which she believes is a trouble spot.

And here it is scary. You have to go to work and everyone is hidden and silent.

Dovilė Lengvenienė, Marketing Manager of “Urmo prekybos miestelis”, told Kauno Diena that, to his knowledge, no infections have been identified for employees of the mentioned warehouse and all other buildings.

He said the workers were sick in October, but a few weeks ago they were already recovering and going back to work. “These were construction workers, they were working on a new building,” the spokeswoman said, adding that there were no sick people in the sales sector in October.

Much panic

Speaking about the specific point of sale mentioned by the reader, D. Lengvenienė said that he had contacted the owner. The employees, he said, have certainly changed, but they are all healthy.

“However, there is a lot of panic among city employees,” D. Lengvenienė did not hide. Sensitive to the welfare of others and to all messages about possible trade restrictions.

“The safety of both vendors and visitors has been a priority for us since the beginning of the pandemic. We continue to take all possible measures to protect those exposed to the COVID-19 threat on a daily basis: special methods and certified cleaning and disinfection of facilities, providing information and warnings related to viruses, and maintaining distances between staff and visitors. Customers constantly have the opportunity to disinfect their hands and use free disposable gloves in all commercial rooms, “said D Lengvenienė about measurements.

The diagnosed coronavirus was reported by the mall staff, but the managers also received information about the cases from the National Center for Public Health.

It is important to react in time

Rima Gabrielaitė, Chief Specialist of the Division of Management of Communicable Diseases of the Kaunas Department of the NVSC, informed the portal kauno.diena.lt that in October, when hundreds of cases of coronavirus were detected in Kaunas, six of them were detected for the employees of “Urmo prekybos miestelis”.

“Three of them are related in place and time (that is, they are infected with each other), the other three cases are isolated,” said R. Gabrielaitė.

“Given the number of cases registered in the town of Urmo, we can assume,” said the NVSC representative, “that the preventive measures implemented (disinfection of the workplace and isolation of exposed people) are effective, most importantly, that are implemented as soon as possible ”. .

He clarified that the disinfection of the premises does not restrict the activities of unexposed people.
