Seems strong

Vytautas Dumbliauskas, political scientist at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Delphi he said it was not yet clear what a conservative cabinet would look like.

“So far, the fog is complete,” said the political scientist.

He said that the leader of the TS-LKD, G. Landsbergis, according to the established rules of the ruling coalition, could only wait for the position of the elder of the faction. Because normally the presidency of the Seimas is handed over to the second largest ruling party.

“It just came to our attention then. And the president of the Seimas should be the second party in the coalition in terms of the size of the terms, as such a tradition has developed. The first party takes the prime minister and the second the head of the Seimas. Now it is not clear who will be the second party, it will be clear after the second round of the Seimas elections. ” Delphi said the political scientist.

“Well, unless you want to be a minister. Any brutal negotiation will still be about this. Imagine three entities sitting at a table, with all the ministries on it, and with a lot of money and little. Imagine what a fight will be. of the cake ”, predicted the interlocutor.

V. Dumbliauskas stated that if I. Šimonytė became Prime Minister, she would evaluate him positively because of her willingness to discuss and discuss essential issues of public administration.

The political scientist said he believed conservatives would remember the minister as a political office. And the government will be formed from those people.

“Without a doubt, the minister must have a political position. That professional government experiment did not turn out to be true. (…) These must be political positions, and the ministers must be extraordinary members of parties with weight. Then it will be easier for the minister to work, he has influence, he can negotiate better with the faction, because there will be all kinds of conflicts.

The problem for the peasants was that the ministers had no support in the faction, they were completely foreign people. And if you’ve been a long-time party member as a minister … I think the Conservatives won’t make that mistake and won’t play those games with professionals. And the ministers will be political as everywhere ”, he hoped.

V. Dumbliauskas Delphi received a very positive evaluation of the preliminary Cabinet list. He said that such a composition of the Government would be very strong.

“It just came to our attention then. The big picture is good. It looks like a list of professionals here, but they are, above all, politicians and members of the Seimas,” said the MRU political scientist.
