The brightest stars of European basketball are running once again on the Žalgiris Arena’s parquet. On Saturday, an unofficial basketball comeback will take place on Nemunas Island; after a half-year break, spectator matches will take place here.
Some 3,000 people bought tickets for the first day of the tournament, which includes Žalgiris, Athens Panathinaikos, AX Armani Exchange in Milan and ALBA in Berlin.
Some of them, about 1,000 people, were already watching the first match of the day between the Milan and Berlin teams. “Žalgiris” will compete with “Panathinaikos” from 7pm.
Spectators sit in the stands according to social distance: half of the chairs in the “Žalgiris” arena are covered with black stripes, which prohibit sitting, so even the people who gather are assigned at least a place.
Absolutely all spectators entering the arena are controlled by body temperature in the open air (it cannot exceed 37.3 degrees). Spectators can only enter the arena wearing masks, everyone is sitting in the stands and covering their face.
Various surfaces are constantly being disinfected in the sand: handles, tables.
Žalgiris Arena only has bars and cafes in the corridors; now it is forbidden to bring not only drinks but also food into the hall.
Under the current procedure established by the Ministry of Health, the number of people at indoor events is not limited, but spectators must sit one meter apart. In this way, Žalgiris can sell a maximum of around 7,000 tickets for the match.
