Data analyst: We see a small increase

Government data analyst Aistis Šimaitis presented the latest data on the pandemic to the Cabinet of Ministers.

“We are in a similar place to where we were 3-4 weeks ago, when it seemed that the rise was beginning, but it did not turn into a big bang. But the indicators show that we are in a low stage, ”said A. Šimaitis, an analyst at the government meeting.

He said the acceleration of the pandemic is again positive, albeit small. He said that there is no sustainable position, there is a rebound in different regions of the country.

“We seem to be wavering a bit,” said the data analyst.

He said there was no indication that the situation would get worse soon, but there was no indication that it would improve.

A. Šimaitis stated that the Lithuanian strain of coronavirus dominates in Lithuania, but the number of cases of the British strain is starting to increase.

“You can say that there are many more British varieties in Vilnius than in February, it may even be dominant,” said the data analyst.

He stated that regional clusters can be seen throughout Lithuania.

“We are in such an unstable situation, there is an increase in cases. But it is good that there has not yet been a large-scale explosion of cases, as in other countries due to the quarantine measures applied, “said A. Šimaitis at the Cabinet meeting on Monday.
