Delfi was contacted by one of the residents who experienced such inconvenience, Mrs. Aušra. After shopping in Klaipeda, the people of Neringa were already preparing for their home, and suddenly, when they got to the ferry, they ran into trouble.
“It just came to our attention then. We had bought goods and we had no money, we did not expect them to be necessary, we headed home. And there was no lack, an order to pay 12.70 euros. We did not have the money and they did not go to any language” Ms Aušra said.
Finally, Curonian Spit residents asked for help, who brought them a bank card to pay for the transfer. However, this experience left a bad impression on the woman, especially since residents were not warned about the failures in advance.
The situation is related to a failure in the Registration Center
Darius Undžys, Director of Sales and Customer Service at Smiltynės Perkėla AB, explained that the failure is directly related to the failure at the Records Center. The Lithuanian Highway Administration (LAKD) system does not reach the data required to compensate for ferry transfers.
“Due to a system failure, the transfer service will be provided only after purchasing a ticket. Those who are entitled to a ticket refund can apply to LAKD according to the established procedure. Information on temporary inconveniences is available at AB Smiltynės perkėla website www.keltas.lt, on the company’s Facebook account, information boards, box office posts, as well as the media reported on the failure at the Registration Center, ”said D. Undžys .
The problems were caused by the rain.
The Registry Center said Tuesday that the vast majority of its registries and information systems went back to work on Tuesday morning after the effects of the rain on Monday night. However, some of the consequences are still being eliminated: the goal is to restore the functioning of the electronic health system and other registries as soon as possible.
During the heavy rain that hit the capital on Monday night, water entered the facilities of the Records Center on V. Kudirkos Street. As a result, the operation of the servers here was disrupted and the records and information systems maintained by the company were temporarily inoperable, according to a press release.
The Registry Center team dealt with the effects of the rain throughout the night – most records and information systems were restored. The Population Registry, the Real Estate Registry, the Address Registry and the auction and electronic auctions portal are currently operational.
However, the recovery of the Electronic Infrastructure Information System for Health and Cooperation Services (ESPBI IS, or E-health) took longer than planned, the Mortgage Registry and the Asset Seizure Registry were interrupted and clients temporarily unable to use Self-Service Registration Center.
Currently, the Registry is doing everything possible to restore the operation of these systems and services as soon as possible.
It is planned to use independent external experts to determine the real causes of the accident.
