President Gitanas Nausda and his family ended their temporary self-isolation after saying that an employee of the Office of the President who was in contact with a person infected with coronavirus was not sick with COVID-19.

Information about the negative COVID-19 test result was received Saturday night, the president’s communication group reported.

Most of the staff in the president’s office took their jobs Monday, which were disinfected on Friday. The employee will have contact with the infected person until August 17. so remotely.

The President reported that, in view of the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in Lithuania, additional protection measures will be applied in the Office of the President from the beginning of next week.

Body temperature measurements for incoming staff, guests and visitors will be updated. All visitors and guests to the iol President’s Office must wear face masks. It is also stipulated that the personnel of the Presidency of the Republic must wear masks when at least one visitor or guest is present at the meeting, as well as during internal meetings where a distance of 2 meters is not maintained and when attending meetings in other institutions.

Starting Monday, the Office of the President staff are encouraged to host meetings remotely, if possible.
