Actors Ian McKellen and Martin Freeman, who starred in many Oscar-winning films, have joined Project Northmoor, which aims to turn the writer’s huge home into his museum.

Although JRR Tolkien is known around the world, there is no center for his work in Britain and around the world. The Northmoor project aims to buy the writer’s house from its current owner, renovate it and set up a museum.
“We will not be able to achieve this without the support of the global Tolkien fan community, without the brotherhood of our fans,” McKellen said, urging them to donate to the project by March 15 of next year.
