Vitamins for beauty

Monika Matulaitytė pharmacist for women who want to be even more beautiful, more energetic and healthier even during their forties, should pay attention to what their body may currently lack.

“The proper balance of all nutrients and optimal amounts in the body are very important for a woman’s appearance. As the most important microelements, I would highlight iron, magnesium, zinc, selenium, silicon and copper, as well like all the B group vitamins, especially biotin (B7). I advise you not to forget about omega acids and vitamin D3 “, advises the pharmacist.

Although all of the above substances can theoretically be obtained with a balanced diet, the Lithuanian climate, seasonality and ongoing quarantine mean that not everyone receives a sufficient amount of these much-needed vitamins and trace elements.

To understand what your body is missing, you need to listen to your body better. Weakened skin and hair and broken nails can indicate a deficiency. According to M. Matulaitytė, it should be noted when the first appearance-related changes appeared and what may have caused them. The most common reasons for this are seasonality, new eating habits, and emotional state. When noticing these signs, the pharmacist recommends consulting a pharmacist, expressing your concerns and including in the diet food supplements enriched with beauty friends: selenium, zinc, silicon.

“But evening primrose oil, fish oil, vitamins A and E will give your skin and hair more hydration and shine. I would also recommend taking oral preparations with hyaluronic acid and collagen. These products promote skin regeneration, they give it luminosity, vitality and slow down the aging process ”, shares the pharmacist.

Women of childbearing age are also advised to consume more iron due to the increased risk of iron deficiency due to blood loss during menstruation. As a result, you may experience lack of energy and weakness, hair loss, or pale skin.

Beauty friends and foes

Another important beauty ingredient is the adequate consumption of liquids, preferably water. It can also help those who want to lose weight. Of course, the pharmacist M. Matulatytė cautions that drinking water should not be exaggerated, since, like other substances in excess, it can begin to accumulate in the body. The recommended daily intake of water for an adult is approximately 30 ml / 1 kg of body weight.

But it is not only vitamins, trace elements and water that are the source of health and beauty. It is very important that all your effort is not wasted in using the wrong external beauty tool.

“Therefore, we must not forget to choose the right cosmetics, because only these will bring benefits. In winter, I recommend women to choose more nourishing, non-moisturizing and anti-ice creams or special cosmetics with antioxidants”, advises the pharmacist.

For women who like to use natural beauty products at home, M. Matulaitytė cautions that the benefits of some popular and widespread products are often unfounded.

“It is popular with women to use a variety of pure homemade oils in their hair or skin care routine. Still, I want to point out that the pure oils are not processed so they can be used on the hair. Because its molecules are too large, they do not penetrate the hair scales and even do the opposite: they accumulate in the hair and dry it out, and in the case of the skin, they clog the pores ”, warns the pharmacist, who does not always It is effective.

Although the last few years have shown that we cannot control what happens around us, the pharmacist advises to focus our energy on what is in our power, such as taking care of ourselves.
