I always loved making treats

Inga has lived and worked in Šiauliai for most of her life. And although she had gone to live abroad, the woman, guided by her heart, returned to her hometown, where she now lives a life with a loving husband and two wonderful children and has worked as a chief accountant for more than 10 years in your own accounting firm.

And while a woman’s profession is not about baking, she says she has always enjoyed hanging around the kitchen and pampering her loved ones with a variety of cakes, easy-to-make cakes, and other delicacies. And the greatest interest in making cakes was felt by the woman in an unexpected way.

“A year and a half ago, there was a plan for the whole family to emigrate from Lithuania to Iceland. I thought intensely about what I would do and how I would perform when I went to live there. I realized that without worrying about family, home, being just for me, definitely not for me.

Then came the idea that I could bake cakes and all kinds of delicacies, in my dreams maybe even open a little cafe there in the future. I started asking for all kinds of trinkets to make cakes from China, looking for what courses I could take, “recalls Inga.

The main cake taster is a dear man

The woman says that before she started making more complex cakes and taking baking more seriously, she attended only one course and then experimented a lot and tried to discover new flavors on her own.

“The basis was how to learn how to decorate a cake beautifully, how to decorate it. I’ve had great recipes for a long time, but that’s not enough. I thought here as an accountant you need knowledge and a system …

I just went on a one-day course to spread pure cake, plus all on my own, and when I need something, I find it online, ”he says.

Inga remembers perfectly how she first made a more complex cake, which was tasted not only by her family but also by relatives. This time, after receiving much support and praise, the woman decided to expand her cake-making business and offer her cakes to a wider audience.

“The main taster of my cakes was a man. And my first cake, which I presented not only to my family, was exactly one year ago, for Christmas. I dared to make a Snickers cake and after watching the Youtube lessons I wrapped it in mirror glaze. The cake came out with a space theme.

I hesitantly transported him to our Christmas celebration, where the husband’s parents and brother, sister and their families were gathered, still shouting in his head: “Or maybe the bad taste, the ugly, too much paint, will fade.” Was lucky. That’s when the path to my cake kingdom began, “he smiles.

Unleash your creativity

Inga’s cake production has been intensively engaged for 8 months. The woman is happy that making cakes allows her to tap into her creativity, which she doesn’t achieve while working as an accountant.

“There was nowhere to exploit my creativity in my core business, and I am a creative person. When a person orders a cake and gives me freedom to decorate, my heart rejoices, from the first moment of the order, a thought of what I am going to do is already generated in my mind.

I will not hide, pass and fail as I can think of. So now I allow myself more, putting aside unnecessary stress on how the cake will look, the improvised decorated cake always looks better, ”smiles Inga.

He challenges himself

However, the woman does not hide the fact that there are flaws in cake making. However, according to Inga, it is even more motivating, and the most interesting recipes for her are those according to which it is quite a challenge to produce a delicacy:

“I really like challenges, if anything more difficult, it’s just me. French desserts have always fascinated and continue to fascinate me. I had the challenge of learning how to bake Macarons cookies. Oh, how many cans were thrown away, but I learned and the enthusiasm went away.

When I visited beautiful Paris in January this year, I was looking for a place to taste the Creme Brulee dessert. Unfortunately the taste disappointed me and I told my husband I would bake Creme Brulee and mine would be tastier and bake. Maybe that’s why I’m leaning more towards French pastries. “

The woman says French pastries take a long time because almost all of their ingredients are refrigerated separately in the freezer. And the island “Sala” cost most of the time and effort, but the result exceeded even the expectations of Inga herself, and after this cake the photo on social networks simply poured out praise:

“I did it, first of all, for myself and my guests, on the occasion of my birthday. With this cake, it took a long time to get the same design. Due to the inadequate insulation of the pastry ring, the entire “ocean” of the cake with all the dolphins floated freely throughout the refrigerator. I redid and the result is really cool. I even liked myself, and which, I admit, is really weird. “

Offers cakes of various flavors

In almost a year, Inga’s product range has expanded significantly and can now offer a wide range of delicious cakes, which you can see on the Facebook page “Sugar Love”.

“During those months, my range has expanded significantly. I offer from simpler cheesecakes to more sophisticated French pastries and a variety of delicacies. The most popular right now are the French mushroom pistachios with raspberries and mango cakes. Sandwiches, ambassador honey, and strawberries with homemade caramel are often ordered from cookies.

Baking and eclairs, “Shu” cakes, tartare. My range also includes cakes without piñata. It is a hammer-beaten sponge cake, from which candies, gum and dragees are poured. A great option for those who don’t eat cakes, and it is even possible to hide a gift in such a cake.

I myself am a great lover of sweets and many times I experiment with recipes, I stay and burn in my own way. I was repeatedly asked, “And how do you remember what to do next time?” Well, my memory is very good, I think I have to thank you here for my main job: accounting, “Inga smiles.

Ambitious plans for the future

The woman admits that she is not receiving many orders yet, as business plans have also been adjusted by the global coronavirus. But Inga hopes to further expand her cake kingdom and, later, perhaps, open a patisserie.

“As I am a pretty cool baker in Šiauliai and I really advertise very little, there are no queues waiting. My main activity is still accounting when needed, I do work and stay up all day with my creations.

Let’s not forget that I started my cake kingdom just before the COVID-19 situation, especially now that the Christmas and New Years restrictions have greatly tightened my orders. But I can’t complain, I think that with 2021 the situation will improve, all the more so that I have couriers who will be able to deliver my orders to the door of Kaunas or Vilnius. As I myself make all the components of the delicacies, I do not buy any semi-finished products, I choose only fresh and high-quality products, the result takes time to complete ”.

“Now the biggest wish is to continue developing the possibility of delivering our products to other cities. More improvement both in the recipe and in the designs. More practice is needed. And, of course, to have more orders. Perhaps what we dreamed of doing. in Iceland it is also implemented in Lithuania.

You cannot know what awaits you in life, maybe I will be the person to write your confectionery book and you can buy it ”, Inga shares her future dreams.

Surprise even those who do not like sweets.

And while Inga doesn’t have a large customer circle yet, she can be happy that those who taste her cakes or delicacies want to come back. Women’s cakes fascinate even the most demanding and those who do not even like sweets.

“At first, when I would deliver the cake to the customer, it would creak and keep checking the phone, waiting for a response to see if I liked it or if it was delicious. I often asked him to leave comments after the photos he posted. But when thanksgiving and writing began to flow, the sayings that the cake or delicacy was perfect, both in taste and appearance, I calmed down.

Of course, I am waiting for an answer now, but I started to trust myself more, and already when I order I know that I will like it. Everything that is done with love and dedication always gives great results. And when the same customers come back again and again, it means that they are not lying, ”says the happy woman.

“And if someone doesn’t like it, I know I won’t please all of humanity. What surprises me the most is when mothers who do not like cakes or sweets completely order their children on the occasion of their birthday and “cut” them into several pieces, because they are very tasty, “adds Inga with a smile.
