The Oxford expert proposes a new version of COVID-19: such “strange things” have already happened

According to The Daily Telegraph, principal investigator at the Oxford Center for Evidence-Based Medicine, Dr. Tom Jefferson says there is increasing evidence that the coronavirus already existed elsewhere nine months before it appeared in Wuhan.

The coronavirus outbreak was thought to have started at Juan’s seafood market and originated from bats. The first cases of the virus were reported in the Chinese city of Hubei province in November last year. But China officially announced the virus much later.

The World Health Organization (WHO) clarified in early July that it had learned about the new coronavirus for the first time not from Chinese services but from its China office.

According to the revised virus timeline, the WHO China office provided information on “viral lung disease” on December 31, based on the Wuhan Health Commission website.

The first version of the timeline, which was released on April 9, stated that the Wuhan City Health Commission reported cases of pneumonia on December 31.

A couple of weeks ago, Spanish virologists reported having detected traces of the virus in sewage samples taken in March last year. And now dr. Jefferson says he believes the virus “was already here” before Wuhan reported the first case.

“We need to start investigating the ecology of the virus, understand where it comes from and how it mutates,” said the scientist.

“I think the virus was already here, I mean, it was everywhere. We may have found an inactive sleep virus that has been activated by environmental conditions. A case was recorded in the Falkland Islands in early February. where did it come from? ”said Jefferson.

“A cruise ship sailed from the island of South Georgia to Buenos Aires, its passengers were checked and the first case was recorded on the eighth day when they started sailing to the Vedel Sea,” the scientist continued.

As news.com.au writes, dr. Jefferson doubts whether the incident on the cruise ship was caused by “thawed prepared food” after the virus was activated. He added that “such strange things” occurred during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic.

“In 1918, about 30 percent. “The people of Samoa have died from the Spanish flu, but they have not communicated with the outside world,” said Jefferson.

“The only explanation for all this could be that these pathogens do not come from anywhere. They always exist until something illuminates them, perhaps the density of people or the environmental conditions. These are the things that we must explain,” said my expert.

Dr. Jefferson asked that the viruses in the wastewater and their fecal transmission be investigated, and said that this type of environment was ready to activate the disease.

Italian experts found evidence that COVID-19 existed in waste samples in December, long before the first case of the virus in the country was reported.

The scientist’s statement came at a time when WHO was preparing to launch a “fact-finding mission” to determine the origin of the virus, and Chinese officials say the virus originated in Europe and only then reached China.

Chinese scientists have lobbied the WHO for a study, assuming the virus could have originated from more than just China.

“The identification of the source of the coronavirus needs to be negotiated and in several countries,” the chief epidemiologist at the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told The Global Times.

“There is no difference in which country the scientific work to determine the origin of the virus will begin; the most important thing is that it must cover all the countries involved and be carried out transparently,” says the epidemiologist.

Both US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have strongly criticized the alleged lack of transparency in China and have repeatedly voiced the theory that the virus has spread from the Wuhan maximum security virology laboratory.

The statement has become an apple of contention between China and the United States, and Beijing accuses Republican politicians in the United States of trying to blame others before the upcoming presidential election.

Most scientists believe that the virus originated from animals that later infected humans.

Many countries, including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, have also asked China to be more transparent about its response to the virus. Beijing categorically denies the allegations that it withheld information related to the original outbreak, arguing that such data was provided in a timely manner to WHO and other states.
