It will be necessary to isolate only from countries where the incidence of COVID-19 is higher than in Lithuania, the government decided on Wednesday.

After changing the current isolation procedure, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to abandon the current rule of 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and provided that isolation would be necessary upon arrival of countries if the incidence was 10 percent higher than in Lithuania.

Additional criteria are expected to be included in the assessment of the obligation to isolate arrivals from third countries: indicator of test volumes, percentage of positive test results, availability of information, rate of hospitalization.

Isolation for 14 days is mandatory for people arriving or passing through the affected countries, with certain exceptions.

The government has also decided to register all participants in the events from now on, regardless of their number. The events category would also include city festivals and fairs. So far, registration has been mandatory if more than 300 people attend the event.

According to the Minister of the Interior, Rita Tamašunien caso, in the event of an outbreak, this will make it easier to locate the contact persons and instruct them to isolate themselves.

The Minister of Culture Mindaugas Kvietkauskas asked the Ministry of Health not to duplicate the requirements, that is, in case personal data is recorded after selling an electronic ticket, no additional registration is required, because “it is important that the organizers collect data one way or another. “
