“All persons returning to or arriving in the Republic of Lithuania on regular, special and charter passenger transport routes (all modes of transport) must have a document (with translation into Lithuanian, English or Russian) about the person not before of the 72 hours. the COVID-19 test carried out during the period prior to the return or arrival in the Republic of Lithuania and the negative result received (the response of the serological antibody tests is not recognized) ”, states the Government’s resolution.

Among other things, passenger companies must “ensure that passengers who do not have a COVID-19 test and a negative test result do not enter vehicles.”

Exceptions apply to crew and crew members, persons in transit through Lithuania, persons under the age of 16, as well as persons vaccinated or relapsed when the diagnosis is confirmed “on the basis of a PCR test or SARS-CoV-2 antigen positive “. Until now, this procedure has been regulated by the decisions of the Operations Manager, which stipulated that arrivals or returnees from countries on the list of affected countries must have a COVID-19 study conducted no earlier than two days prior to arrival or have it done in Lithuania.

As the Minister of Health Arūnas Dulkys previously said, such an adjustment is necessary taking into account the new strains of coronavirus and the fact that not all people in Lithuania register to study.

A negative test will not save you from isolation.

Isolation is mandatory for all returnees for 10 days (regardless of the test result). The isolation time cannot be reduced before the seventh day of isolation by a coronavirus self-diagnostic test (PCR) with a negative result.

According to current legislation, isolation does not apply to returnees who have returned from abroad, but they must prove it by presenting a certificate from a personal health care institution that they have relapsed to COVID-19 (coronavirus infection) when the diagnosis has been confirmed by a positive SARS-CoV-2 as a result of a PCR test or an antigen test, and no more than 90 days elapsed between a positive test result and arrival in Lithuania.

Please note that a medical institution certificate is not required if a person has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Lithuania and the data is provided in the Electronic Health Services and Cooperation Infrastructure Information System (hereinafter ESPBI IS) .

Isolation also does not apply to vaccinated people. To prove this, you must provide a certificate from a medical institution, a country-specific vaccination certificate, or an international vaccination certificate stating that the person has been fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 (coronavirus infection) vaccine in accordance with the vaccination schedule. All mentioned documents must be submitted with a Lithuanian, English or Russian translation.

Furthermore, all persons returning to or arriving in Lithuania must register and submit their details to the National Public Health Center (NVSC) electronically. This means that before starting a trip by plane, ferry, bus or train, people must complete a form on the NVSC website and present the registration confirmation received (QR code) at the time of boarding. It is recommended to complete the electronic form at least 24 hours before the start of the trip.

How much do tests cost in the most popular areas?

Currently, the most popular holiday destinations in Lithuania are Tenerife, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Madeira and the Maldives. The prices for PCR tests in their private laboratories range from € 30 to € 120.

Lithuanians traveling with tour operators should contact a representative of the company and choose the most appropriate way to perform the test: go to the laboratory or, if possible and after arranging the arrival of a representative from the laboratory to the hotel, perform it in an agreed place. True, there may also be an additional charge for going to the lab or calling an employee at the hotel. Those who travel independently to the laboratory must do so on their own.

Egypt PCR tests cost about $ 30, about $ 27. Study results are available within 24-48 hours.

In tenerife The price of the PCR test is about 99 euros, the price of the antigen test is 30 euros. Test results are obtained in 24 hours.

Madeira The cost of PCR tests is 75 to 90 Eur. Test results are obtained in 24 hours.

In Dubai the tests cost between 30 and 60 euros (depending on the chosen laboratory), the results are available in 24 hours.

In the maldives PCR tests cost between € 85 and € 120. Results are obtained in 24-48 hours.

As i wrote before DelphiAccording to the current procedure, Lithuanians who wish to travel must carry out the tests on their own, so compatriots who are not satisfied with the mandatory PCR tests, and more precisely with their prices in private clinics, assure that this has done that traveling is a luxury.
