At the same time, the Head of Government praised Elektrėnai for the vaccination volumes, which are one of the best in Lithuania. According to the prime minister, the problem in this municipality (as well as in all states in general) is that the quantity of vaccines is too low.

At the same time, I. Šimonytė hinted that in the near future it is planned to announce that the age poster will be removed, from which individuals will be vaccinated against livestock, regardless of their profession.

Intense invites to come

The mayor of Elektrėnai, Kęstutis Vaitukaitis, stated that the success of the vaccination of the elderly is the merit of the employees of his municipal health institution, who are actively inviting.

“It just came to our knowledge then. There is active work, we called several times, we are looking, we invite you to come. The conditions are there, we can get vaccinated both in primary care centers and in hospital, if necessary, we also let’s go home, ”said K. Vaitukaitis.

More than 60% were vaccinated in Elektrėnai. over 65 people. The mayor does not hide that it will be difficult to summon the rest.

“It just came to our attention then. It’s no secret that sometimes some people wait for others,” said K. Vaitukaitis.

According to the mayor, almost all the police officers have already been vaccinated in the city. Vaccinated teachers, social workers, doctors. Little by little, the vaccination of the company’s employees also begins. But the mayor is open to the lack of vaccines.

The Prime Minister continues her visits to Lithuania

On Friday, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė will visit the vaccination centers in Trakai, Elektrėnai and Kaišiadorys. The purpose of the visits is to discuss with those responsible for these municipalities the preparations for mass vaccination.

The head of government also meets remotely with representatives of doctors, educators and police.

Last Friday, I. Šimonytė visited the vaccination centers of the Vilnius and Švenčionys and Visaginas districts, and discussed the vaccination process together with the mayors of these municipalities.

A vaccination plan drawn up by the Ministry of Health expects mass vaccination to begin in early June.
