Yesterday, the Vilnius City Council passed a resolution calling on the highest state institutions to take all necessary political actions and decisions to ensure a multifunctional space open to creative work in various fields that meets the expectations of society, meets with the country’s development prospects and international culture. political trends mountain – construction.

With this resolution, the Council also addresses the professional community of music and other performing arts, in particular associated and umbrella organizations, proposing to jointly gather and develop an efficient and transparent management model of the National Concert Hall. suitable for major cities, towns and countries. and international music and performing arts operators for viewers and listeners, inspiring future creators and performers.

The document is also expected to bring a long-term perspective and a new urban character to Taurus Hill, one of the most visible places in the capital, not only by establishing a new set of modern architecture, but also by organizing the entire surrounding area. . . The resolution also welcomes the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and the Ministry of Culture together with the Vilnius City Municipality to establish a new and modern cultural fireplace with unique acoustics and a concert hall of the highest world standards that meet the needs of contemporary culture. music and other performing arts.

In November of last year, as an announcement of the conclusion of negotiations with the Spanish architecture studio Arquivio arquitectos, the author of the best project for the National Concert Hall was recognized in an international architecture competition. After the project parties signed an agreement on the design of the National Concert Hall “Tautos namai” and the supervision of the construction project, a difficult stage was completed, during which the scope of services, quality requirements , the preliminary design deadlines and, finally, the price of the design services was agreed. Funders of the National Concert Hall project After the Ministry of Culture stressed the importance of preparing the acoustic part of the project, the task was entrusted to world-renowned specialists: the Japanese acoustic engineering company Nagata Acoustics.

The concert complex and “Nation House” halls will be erected on the site of the former Trade Union Palace, on Taurus Hill, near the park and the Lutheran Garden. The total area of ​​the complex will reach 16,000-18,000 m2 M. meter. It is planned that the Great Concert Hall will have a capacity for 1,500-1,700 listeners, it will be adapted both for classical music concerts (symphonic and chamber) and for concerts of music of other genres (it is planned to adjust the acoustic quality of the hall using acoustic projected variable natural). The small, otherwise multi-functional, professional performing arts hall with 500 seats is envisioned to be used for the presentation of a wide variety of art genres. The third room, “Casa de la Nación”, will be dedicated to exhibitions, events and educational activities.
