The Klaipėda Little Lyceum, which will be housed in a four-story building, will invite children to the preschool (2-5 years) and preschool (5.5-6.6 years) education groups starting this September. Until now, the “Klaipeda Little Lyceum” has been operating in Melnrage.

According to her, the Dragūnai neighborhood is especially attractive for kindergarten activities and the fact that, as in Melnrage, it is close to nature, the forest, which is especially important for kindergartens that have an accredited health improvement program adored and carry out play and experience activities.
Kindergarten – Amphitheater and attention to the safety of children
Vilija Gerazimienė, Deputy Director for Commerce at UAB Pamario troba, points out that the building’s architects, who have accumulated many years of experience with the A405, were inspired by the best examples of world architecture in the field of education. The building meets all safety, technical and other requirements for new kindergartens, and investments have been made in additional and unique solutions.
“When designing and building the kindergarten, interesting and non-traditional solutions were sought. One of them is the natural wood amphitheater, which connects the third and fourth floors of the building. It is an open stair-oriented room for events and creative activities, followed by a space overlooking the forest, perfect for a library or reading. Architectural solutions such as the amphitheater are installed in the best educational institutions in the world, such as the Center for Executive Training at Harvard University. Much attention is paid to the safety of children in the building: perimeter protection with access control, secure lock and water supply systems to prevent babies from being hit or burned, and all sports and play areas (gym , outdoor playground, treadmill) are lined with certified specialty coatings. All this is for the integral development of the personality ”, says V. Gerazimienė.
The nursery will have an elevator adapted for children with reduced mobility, special bathrooms for the smallest “residents”, recovery with air cooling function. The construction of the building took about two years.
Western environment and playful education
Dr. R. Kontautienė is convinced that the environment in which a child grows up is very important for a quality education. According to the director, it should fully satisfy not only the necessary needs of the child, but also inspire, foster creativity and the desire to know, try and experiment. Research has shown that up to 60 percent of a child’s intellectual development depends on the environment around him.
“The environment of the new kindergarten is adapted to the philosophy nurtured by our dedicated teachers: playful education, because children learn best by playing. The teachers of the “Little Klaipeda Lyceum” constantly deepen their knowledge and learn from the best practices of foreign kindergartens, the author’s educational program is based on the British system. We apply the latest methodologies that are used in Oxford-level kindergartens, ”emphasizes the director of Klaipėda Lyceum, the author of the kindergarten education program.
According to her, based on the British education model at the “Little Klaipeda Lyceum”, the children have been learning to read, write, calculate the basics, English, drama, dance, construction and various artistic activities since the age of 3.
Bilingual education programs for children from 5 years old
Children from the age of 5 have the opportunity to choose bilingual education programs (Lithuanian-English or Russian-Lithuanian), according to which it will also be possible to continue their studies at the primary education level of the Klaipėda Lyceum, and later, according to international bachelor programs (IB, MYP, DP).
“Our goal is to make all children safe and good in kindergarten, and many fun and fun activities will stimulate their curiosity and sense of happiness.
