R.Šalaševičiūtė said that he was tested for COVID-19 in early November, which came back negative.

Another coronavirus study was conducted on November 10. It showed that the politician was sick.

“The professionals I had to work with when I was Minister of Health advised me that mistakes would be made and that it would be appropriate to repeat the tests. I applied in private. These tests came back negative on both Friday and Sunday mornings. Therefore, of course, the family doctor closed the sick leave card and freed us all, so to speak, from self-isolation: both myself and Minister L. Kukuraitis, Minister A. Palionis and those who work here , that is to say, in the Chancellery of the Seimas, who had some small contact. with me, ”said R.Šalaševičiūtė.

The Seimas member explained that she did not feel any symptoms of COVID-19. According to her, there was no fever, runny nose, cough, pain, loss of taste or smell.

“I took five days off before doing the research and I’m happy to get back to work today,” he said.

R.Šalaševičiūtė noted that specialists say that errors occur due to the results of the investigation.

“About 1-2 percent of all tests performed. Apparently, I got into that wrong percentage, “he said.

When asked if he thought he had COVID-19, R. Šalaševičiūtė said it had been considered.

However, he mentioned that he did not feel any symptoms of the disease, did not visit abroad, did not have contact with those infected with coronavirus.

Don’t try to isolate yourself without NVSC calls

On Tuesday, it was announced that on Monday night, Seimas Liberal member Jonas Varkalys received a positive result from the COVID-19 investigation. Previously, he did not contact a single MP who was at the Seimas on Tuesday, but the Seimas as a whole does not promise to stop working. It is true that precautions are planned.

Eugenijus Gentvilas, the eldest of the Liberal Movement faction, admits that J.Varkalys had contact with Rimante Šalaševičiūtė, who had previously received a positive response to the coronavirus test, but did not isolate himself and participated in the swearing-in ceremony on Friday.

“Journalists have already started attacking members of the Seimas. … We will be pushed here,” E. Gentvilas told the Elders’ Conference on Tuesday.

He assured that self-isolation is necessary only when Seimas members receive a mandatory instruction from the National Public Health Center (NVSC) to isolate themselves or a recommendation from the Seimas Chancellery to isolate themselves.

“The same rules apply to Seimas members as to others,” said Seimas president Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen.

However, for several weeks now, the NVSC has been publicly announcing that it has been unable to identify contacts and is asking sufferers to notify their contacts themselves so they can be isolated.

“Until you get a call or message from the NVSC, you don’t have to isolate yourself,” said Rita Tamašunienė, representative of the Polish Lithuanian Election Campaign – Union of Christian Families in the Seimas.

Vigilijus Jukna, a “worker”, testified that his personal example shows that he himself received the contact message a week after the coronavirus was detected in his contact. He suggested evaluating the situation for themselves individually and, if they felt they could have close contact, isolating themselves.

The president of the Seimas noted that parliamentarians will be offered regular tests for the coronavirus, V. Čmilytė-Nielsen intends to discuss this with the Chancellery of the Seimas on Tuesday.

“Members of the Seimas will be recommended to test regularly, we have a situation where one person or another gets sick, we have to guarantee the work of the Seimas,” said V. Čmilytė-Nielsen.
