The first five

The first position on the list has not changed in 4 years: in 2016, the Minister of the Interior, Saulius Skvernelis, who left office, led the elections to LVŽS Seimas. During this parliamentary period, only S. Skvernel’s position changed. In the 2020 elections, the list of peasants will be headed by Prime Minister S. Skvernelis.

Ramūnas Karbauskis, the leader of the LVŽS himself, was in second place in 2016, in 2020 his position fell by one place, to third place on the list. Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga will try his luck at number 2 on the list this year, and he was number 5 on the list four years ago.

In 2016, the current first vice president of Seimas Rima Baškienė was in third place on the list, but in four years the situation has changed. The politician was awarded only 12th place. R. Baškienė is a long-term member of LVŽS and the representative of this party in parliament.

For the LVŽS 2020 list elections, fourth place: LVU leader R. Karbauskis in Seimas – Aušrinė Norkienė. Her jump compared to the 2016 election was truly impressive, then she was named number 53 on the list.

Four years ago Professor Eugenijus Jovaiša took 4th place on the LVŽS list, and this year he got a very recent spot: 6th place.

In 2016, A. Veryga entered fifth place. This year he will be replaced by Seimas member Tomás Tomilinas. This politician also has an impressive jump: in 2016, he was ranked 47.

What’s left?

Immediately after the top five on the LVŽS list in 2016: match losses.

The current speaker of Seimas Viktoras Pranckietis was in sixth place on the list at the time. Last summer, during the reorganization of the ruling coalition, the post of the head of the Seimas was handed over to the LVŽS partners: the Social Democratic Labor Party of Lithuania (LSDDP). V. Pranckietis refused to resign. This sparked a chain reaction, the politician had to withdraw from the LVŽS party, and later the ruling majority tried to remove him from office, but without success.

This summer, V. Pranckietis announced that he would participate in the next Seimas elections with the Liberal Movement.

After V. Pranckietis, Povilas Urbšys, who does not belong to the party, entered the seventh place on the LVŽS list in 2016. Immediately after the Seimas elections, this policy also participated in the coalition negotiations and withdrew from the LVŽS faction in May 2018. It made this decision after the majority in the Seimas decided not to open a parliamentary investigation into land management, specifically when questions were raised about R. Karbauskis’ business activities. The politician withdrew to the mixed group of Seimas members and remained a fierce critic of the LVŽS leader.

Vytautas Bakas entered the LVŽS list in the twelfth number in 2016, left the faction in the Seimas in July 2019. Then, in search of new partners for the ruling coalition, they turned to the “Order and Justice” trial party. V. Bakas, this was mentioned as one of the reasons for his resignation. The politician later said that the anti-corruption agenda was missing from the agenda of the new ruling coalition. The third and last fall, as the parliamentarian himself said, was the desire to hand over the position of the head of the National Defense Ministry to the aforementioned “Order and Justice” party. V. Bakas also went to the Mixed Group of Seimas Members.

In the first thirty of the LVŽS party in 2016, there were five other politicians who, although on the LVŽS list, chose a different political path.

In January 2020, Viriglijus Poderys left the LVŽS faction and was included in the 2016 list with number 18.

Poderys did not support the ruling coalition when it tried to reject President Gitan Nauseda’s veto of reducing the electoral cartel to 3 percent. He did not appear in the hearing. The veto cannot be rejected by a vote. The politician himself mentioned the divergence of views as the reasons for his resignation, and continues his work in the Mixed Group of Seimas Members.

Justas Džiugelis was 23rd on the LVŽS list four years ago. The politician voluntarily withdrew from the peasant faction, although it was planned to expel him from it. Their conversation and that of R. Karbauskis in the social space in the summer of 2018 ended with the resignation of J. Džiugelis. The politician worked in the Mixed Group of Seimas Members for some time, and then joined the faction of the National Union.

In the winter of last year, when the presidential election campaign gained momentum, Mindaugas Puidokas decided to participate in them, and entered the number 22 in the 2016 list. However, the LVŽS had already decided to support the Prime Minister’s candidacy. S. Skvernelis in the elections. The secret vote in the faction was not in favor of M. Puidokas, he has been working in the Seimas Joint Group of Members ever since.

Bronislovas Matelis, who was added to list 28 four years ago, along with the LVŽS faction in Seimas, did not work for six months. He left in January 2017, after information about former Seimas member Greta Kildišienė appeared in the media. He worked for a time in a mixed group of Seimas members, then joined the National Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats.

Four years ago, Dovilė Šakalienė was added to the list of 30 LVŽS. She assured that she would no longer be able to work with LVŽS, her colleagues left the politician in the summer of 2017. However, she was a little hesitant: first she joined the representatives of the Liberal Movement in the Seimas, and after a time she joined the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania (LSDP).

Delphi remember that the Seimas elections will be held on October 11.
