In the summer of 2020, the king of 3×3 basketball will fight in Lithuania, in addition to the tournament organized by the 3×3 Basketball Association and the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL), the Lithuanian 3×3 Basketball Championship will also take place.
The championship fights will take place in various Lithuanian cities during the summer: 12 championship stages will be distributed in Panevėžys, Tauragė, Ukmergė, Kuršėnai, Radviliškis, Šakiai, Raseiniai, Nemenčinė, Rokiškis, Kaišiadorys, Plung R and Rieta.
Finally, the teams with the best tournament appearances and the most points will face each other from August 15 to 16 in the final stage of the championship and compete for the name of the winners.
The winners of the elite group will receive a ticket to the FIBA World Tour Masters top tier tournament.
The first stage will take place from June 13 to 14 in Panevėžys, the second from June 20 to 21 in Tauragė, and the last tournament in June will take place from June 27 to 28 in Ukmergė.
The Lithuanian 3×3 Basketball Championship will feature participants from 10 different age groups and capacities: fans, elites, and youth groups of various ages: eleven to eighteen.
Together with the 3×3 basketball association, we are trying to expand the availability and geography of 3×3 basketball, therefore, the stages of the Lithuanian championship will visit cities and towns in various regions of Lithuania. Lithuania will be one of the first countries to renew 3×3 basketball events in early summer. I’m glad we are ready to do it very actively, “said one of the championship organizers, Martynas Karaliūnas.
Ignas Grinevičius, director of the 3×3 Basketball Association, was also pleased with the Lithuanian 3×3 Basketball Championship.
