The first LGBT march in the history of the city took place in Kaunas. About 2 thousand people gathered in them. people whose colorful procession became Laisvės Alley and returned to Kaunas St. Archangel Michael Church (Crew).
When surrounded by a thousand members of the LGBT community and their supporters, marriages occurred there. It is true that a traditional, non-homogeneous family is created, for which rights are created and spears are created.

The parade, which crossed Laisvės Alley, was attended by the Minister of Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė, United States Ambassador Robertas Gilchristas, Member of Parliament Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius, opinion formers Agnė Kulitaitė, Naglis Bierancas and others.

The crowd was upbeat despite the eggs being dropped on it, some being sliced, filled with beer, accompanied by nasty words. Decorated with rainbow-colored attributes and clothing details, the parade participants, leading the beat of the drums, carried signs “Be yourself, the world will get used to it,” “God loves everyone,” “Love will win.” , etc. ., chanted “What do we want? Equality! When we want Now!”, “We are everywhere!”

The parade route passed through the Kaunas City Municipality Building. Walking through it, the protesters chanted “You are not our mayor!” Permission for the march was obtained only after the organizers addressed the court, whose decision, in favor of the parade organizers, was also appealed by the municipality.
Different speeches
Among the participants of the march, both Lithuanians and foreigners. Estonians compared the LGBT situation in their country and in Lithuania, and Elena, who was born in Kaunas but now lives in Vilnius, said that she really wanted this kind of event to come to Kaunas as well. “I want my hometown to be open to all people. Now the most important thing is to show that LGBT people are not a minority, that they have a lot of support, that they are fighting not only for themselves, ”said the girl.
Came to Kaunas by train. As the parade approached, he received negative messages and comments on the social network, and today, walking from the station to Laisvės Alley towards the negative, he received face-to-face from various companies.
Yet, she said, she is just as upbeat, positive and friendly as the other participants in the parade.
“I came to support this community because there is a lot of injustice. She is especially visible these days, ”said the boy who became part of the crowd. The girl who was a little further away spoke for herself outside the LGBT community, but became part of the march without hesitation. “It is important to me that everyone has the same rights,” said the Kaunas resident.
There were all kinds of people among the people watching the march. Some supported and applauded the drumming of the march participants as did paramedics who watched the action, while others assigned LGBT representatives to dog days. One of them is what is happening, the older one watching closely. Spoken, she obviously didn’t get mad.
“I am very against it! How why? They are perverts! Mentally ill those p …! At home, let them do whatever they want, but why do they show up, abuse our children and grandchildren? Who needs that demo at all? Perverts are cursed, they need to be treated! ”The woman shouted aloud, giving him the example that she believed to follow that, in Soviet times, sexual minorities could only operate clandestinely.
Gintaras, who came from Alytus especially for the parade, did not waste those words, but he was dissatisfied with what he saw. “I came to defend my church,” said the man. It is unacceptable to him that the LGBT community was allowed to climb, stand on the stairs surrounding Crew Church.
“It just came to our attention then. They got permission to march, I didn’t protest against it. However, people who openly spread sin, same-sex sex, have now, in my opinion, desecrated this church. The square it is common to all, but the church is Christian ”, emphasized the neighbors of Alytus.
Riot police needed
A large force of police was mobilized for the event, partitions were installed at night to restrict the flow of people, and the streets that cross and reach Laisvės Alley were closed. The steps were left for pedestrians, but the most aggressive individuals at the scene were not lost.

Despite all preliminary efforts, and then attempts to temporarily block access to Avenida de la Libertad, riot police were also needed during the parade, when a group of hostile people decided not to miss the march and blocked its path.
Hostile people gathered with chants “Kaunas!”, “Green White!”, “Shame on!”, “Lithuania!” And he wasn’t even thinking of pulling off the road.

Even before getting to the bangers, the men openly stated that they planned not to miss him. One of the protesters recalled that there were officials here to alleviate the situation, saying there was no anger at the police or other people. “But Kaunas will be clean!” – the main interlocutor named his mission.
To his comment that the procession might pass through Šančiai after Laisvės alley was blocked, one of the companions was quick to object: “No, no, no. They will not go! ”The platoon responded with a laugh. After clarifying who they represent, one told the family, the other themselves.
Major incidents were avoided in the busy Laisvės Alley and Independence Square, but at the end of the march, the confrontation of two of its participants with opponents ended with a visit to the hospital for injuries.
A representative from the Kaunas city ambulance station told Kauno Dienai that the attacked men aged 27 and 31 had an injured head and forearm and the other had a face.
Until 6 pm Police detained a total of 22 people.
Reward God
Before you start going to Crew Church, choose the procession for the participants on Vytauto Ave. and Laisvės al. the cross began to gather the faithful. Prayers and hymns were performed during the Rewards for Promoting Homosexuality event.
One of the organizers of the prayer, Jurgis Jonaitis, said that with this campaign he wanted to reward God for “propagating them, proclaiming them, trying to establish sins against nature publicly.” The prayers were addressed to the people of Lithuania who are striving to live a virtuous and brilliant life, especially among the young.

Sin, he said, is both the lifestyle chosen by members of the LGBT community and their march: “It is a public action aimed at perpetuating morally obscene behavior on several levels. For example, changing the concept of marriage, the educational system, parenting traditions, norms, etc. in state laws ”.
J. Jonaitis mentioned that the church is not an institution that accepts any behavior. “She accepts everyone, everyone is a sinner, everyone is doing bad things, but she is calling to convert, to change, to seek answers to difficult questions, but not to succumb to any lustful or unacceptable moral norm.
He described those gathered to pray as peaceful people who wanted to spread the Catholic faith and live a righteous life. One of the participants, the priest Edmundas Naujokaitis, inviting everyone to pray, said that Kaunas Pride is a mockery of God.
LGBT requirements include the right to marriage, partnership, adoption, social security, and services without discrimination on the basis of marital status, or between single parents, grandparents raising children, and sexual minorities.
Kaunas Pride representatives should also teach about the history of the LGBTQ + community and the fight for human rights in schools and universities. Sex education, according to representatives of the organization, should be based on science.
“We want health care, where members of the LGBT + community are not discriminated against, regulation of dignified gender reassignment, security,” said the organizers of the march.
