F. Schneider, who had cancer, belonged to the Electronic Music Quartet. The German band became famous five decades ago with the songs “Autobahn” and “The Model”.
The musician reportedly died of a treacherous disease a few days after his 73rd birthday.
F. Schneider, who founded the legendary Kraftwerk group in the 1970s, was buried in a private ceremony. One of his colleagues announced his death.
The band, which has a lot of fans and was called the “Beatles” of electronics, has also played concerts in Lithuania.
Such a major influence on much of the music we know, from Bowie to electronics, much of the ’80s, and beyond modern techno and rap, Florian Schneider was forging a new metropolis of music for us all to live. RIP #FlorianSchneider #Kraftwerk pic.twitter.com/y2nXuAY66e
