The last training sessions before the Aurum 1006 qualifier – with incidents

But the first defeat was a long time ago. The Dynami: t team’s Poriche engine broke down and the car was found in the garage after Friday’s first workout.

The Technical Project-Viada BMW M3 soon caught fire.

“The time has come when there is nothing to hide, when it is necessary to verify real ability and combat readiness,” Gražvydas Smetonis, president of the College of Racing Sports Commissioners, told the competition press center. “Therefore, even in training today, speeds will inevitably be higher, perhaps even close to the qualifying competition.”

When speeds are higher, surprises can be expected, but there were none.

“Everything is like a note,” G. Smetonis was happy after the first two training sessions.

In the first group, like yesterday, the speed was dictated by the Tarzanija Racing team and yesterday’s leader Karolis Blėdis was replaced by Aurimas Lekavičius, who drove a 2682 meter long track with the Audi S4 in 1 minute. 17,849 sec. (K. Blėdis’s result yesterday – 1 min. 18,573 sec.)

After just a few hundredths of a second, GSR Motorsport representative Eugenijus Misiūra with the BMW E90 (1min. 17.952 sec.) Achieved the second result, and the third was the Kaunas ASK team racer Paulius Novakas, who drove the legendary Lada 2104 .

The top three leaders were Reimpex from KTK Racing, Dock from 222 and Intrans Racing from Meatbusters.

In the second group, 14 teams also competed, whose athletes drove more powerful cars, therefore speeds were higher here.

There were also no surprises. Last year, Circle K MilesPlus Racing winning team and Oskaras Brazaitis, who replaced Estonia’s Ralf Aron, were fastest again last year, driving the fastest lap with the Porsche GT3 CUP GEN2 in 1 minute. 10,789 sec. (yesterday R. Aron result 1 min. 10,665 sec.)

Egidijus Gutaravičius, the host of “Good Gift – RD Sings”, was second in the group of the strongest, with the leader descending in less than 1 second. 11.543 sec.

This time, the third result was recorded by Arūnas Tuma, an athlete from the LG Oled Porsche Club, who drove a Porsche 911 – 1 min 11, 892 sec.

Incidentally, yesterday Arūnas was second, although his result was 1 minute. 13, 451 sec. Much worse than today.

This example is perhaps the most telling prediction confirming that speeds will only increase with each workout.

And they will be maximums at the beginning of the qualifying competition (15.20) and after that at 17.20. for the “Super Pole” qualifying competition, in which the top ten fastest athletes will split into the starting positions of Saturday’s “Aurum 1006 km race”.

All information about the race – 15min in the GAZAS section.
