Valerija Nikontienė from Šiauliai manages the grave of a man who died less than a month ago. The woman blames the doctors at the Šiauliai Hospital reception for the death of a loved one.
“The parasites did nothing for 12 hours. The man lay down, didn’t investigate, didn’t even apologize. A wants to see a man like I don’t want to, having lived together for 52 years, ”says Valerija Nikontienė from Šiauliai.
The 78-year-old man was initially taken to the hospital because he was experiencing pain in the abdominal area, then doctors diagnosed him with inflammation of the duodenum. Less than a day in the hospital, the doctors asked to be picked up. The woman who came to the reception did not expect to see such a video.
“The whole hand is bloody, the microphone is bloody. Well, here now, I say. It is as if now it has been taken out, apparently a drip built in the hand. As I understand it now, I say, all bloody, nothing overwhelmed or bandaged anything, “he says.
This time, a passing ambulance medic helped. But at night, the man woke up all bleeding again, so again the woman called an ambulance and the man was taken to the hospital a second time. Calling the hospital in the morning, the wife was surprised to learn that the spouse was still at the front desk.
After a few hours at the reception, the woman heard the most terrifying news. Supposedly, the doctors did their best but could no longer save the man. The man is said to have died asphyxiated by bile. The woman does not believe in such a version, she believes that the spouse may have choked on blood, and when she let it in, the body was already completely cold.
“It was very cold, he couldn’t get cold in 10-15 minutes. He had been dead behind those curtains for a couple of hours. Apparently the nurse was walking, she saw that he was no longer alive. And when he got cold, he didn’t even know apologized, “says V. Nikontienė.
A woman who did not pass such knowledge lost consciousness herself. The widow, who had difficulty recovering from the loss, lost her health. Doctors diagnosed a heart attack in Šiauliai and offered to go to the hospital immediately, but the woman refused because she wanted to say goodbye to her husband. After the funeral, he was in the hospital for a week. However, a day later, the heart rate was again forced to go to the hospital reception. There she went to the same doctor who had brought her late husband the night before his death.
“He began to explain to me about the man, knowing what, I mean, the doctor, will be with you in another language, and now please look at me. He says I can’t treat you. He told me. I’m scared ”, says the interlocutor.
By order of the director of the Šiauliai Hospital, a commission was formed to analyze this case. Motivating that the case was complex and particularly delicate, the director refused to meet with journalists and answer questions and provided a written response: “The order of care for patients depends on their condition, vital parameters. We unequivocally agree that every patient in a medical institution should be treated with respect, responsibility and it is not appropriate to replicate cases, conditions, etc. The doctor, who interacted disrespectfully with the patient, was interviewed in person and warned about the disrespectful behavior.
The woman regrets not going to the police immediately, now she thinks it may be too late. The man’s body was burned, leaving no evidence.
