After initial verification of the information submitted anonymously, the Minister decided to open an investigation into the possible breach of duties of D. Bakša, Director of NVSPL.
Mr. Bakša will be removed from his post for the duration of the investigation into the alleged breach of his duties in order to ensure that the investigation is carried out smoothly, objectively and promptly. The Minister has 30 business days to carry out the investigation and present the conclusions. Currently, a commission of inquiry has been formed, headed by Eglė Tamošiūnienė, Head of the Anti-Corruption and Compliance Division of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania. During his expulsion, Baksha will be paid a salary.
Rosita Marija Balčienė, deputy director of this institution, will temporarily direct the NVSPL.
