This week, the government will consider introducing changes in attendance at the event due to the coronavirus pandemic, which will also affect basketball games.

This was announced by the Minister of Health, Aurelijus Veryga, at a press conference.

“It is very likely that on Wednesday the government will consider a resolution imposing restrictions on all of Lithuania. Most likely there will be discussions about events, about meetings, so that things that happen during competitions or elsewhere do not happen again. People who make partial promises that they will ensure order do not. Those solutions are the most awaited, “said Minister Veryga.

Currently, the number of spectators at basketball games is not limited, but it is mandatory to maintain the distance between the occupants, as well as to wear masks.

Yesterday, 4376 spectators visited the Vilnius “Rytas” and Kaunas “Žalgiris” matches in the capital.

5,131 fans turned out for Žalgiris’ game against Valencia last Thursday in Kaunas.

Žalgiris was scheduled to start selling tickets for the November matches on October 23, but on that day the Kaunas Club announced that due to the uncertain situation in Lithuania, advance ticket sales would be postponed until next week.
