Will decide next week

At the government meeting, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė stated that it will be decided next week which restrictions will remain in force during March.

“Because next weekend will be February 28, so far the quarantine order is in force, and next Wednesday we will still have to decide under what conditions, what restrictions should be extended and which ones can be waived. At that point, if all goes well, we may be able to talk about the C2 scenario if the dynamics remain favorable. “It’s probably more than one activity topic that we can talk about in one way or another,” he explained.

The prime minister said only a “little technical thing” would be approved this Wednesday.

“I believe that next Wednesday we will consider in detail which restrictions on activities and movements would be maintained for March and which ones could already be lifted,” the prime minister said at the government meeting.

No miracle expected

When Health Minister Arūnas Dulkis mentioned that next week the quarantine conditions will be decided in March, and perhaps even the abolition of the quarantine, I. Šimonytė laughed.

“I thank the minister for the presentation and the great optimism when asking if the quarantine will be extended. I don’t know what miraculous thing should happen that next week we would have less than 25 cases per 100,000. population in 14 days. But the fact is that if the trends continue to be positive, we will be able to decide on the lifting of certain restrictions currently in force next Wednesday, ”he said.

“The quarantine regime will probably be different in March than it is now,” said the head of government.

He said a decision could be made next week for all municipalities in the ring.
