95 percent – non-local

“I understand that because of such decisions we may receive a strong push from the central government. Well, we are used to that. There will definitely be no auctions or lotteries, but I feel obliged to MAKE ALL CONDITIONS for people in my area who want to get vaccinated.

I want to apologize to all of Lithuania. However, the situation as it was with the launch of the common registration system for COVID-19 this week is not acceptable to our district. We received the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines this week. It is these manufacturers who most want and want vaccines. Yesterday, the nurses worked at the vaccination center until evening. After the ninth sweat. What we see?

221 people were revaccinated. 106 people were vaccinated with the first dose of Prizer and 43 people were vaccinated with Moderna. 95 percent of them are not residents of the Širvintos district. Yesterday our nurses vaccinated people from all over Lithuania, Vilnius, Ukmergė and even Nida, ”the Širvintos district mayor writes on Facebook.

According to her, the municipality, the polyclinic, and even her personal phone is not silent, people complain, ask for help because supposedly they call 1808 they cannot.

Therefore, it is not like registering for a vaccine in Širvintos, because everything in the system is already full in the first hours.

Enter your order

“People who don’t work on computers in skyscrapers or offices and can’t hang up online all day come up, waiting for a new line to appear in the common system and they will be allowed to register. There are many people working for farmers, mushrooms, strawberries, after all, stores that sell us bread every day and many more …

I take responsibility for the decision. However, I have to think and create the conditions for the residents of ŠIRVINTAI DISTRICT who want to be vaccinated. So, next week, May 24-28. We will only invite residents of Širvintos district to get vaccinated, ”writes Ž.Pinskuvienė in his own style with lots of red exclamation points.

Next week, Širvintos is scheduled to receive the Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines, which will be available for registration by phone starting May 21. (in working hours).

According to the mayor, “those who want to get vaccinated 35+ and older people from Širvintos” can do so, they only need to call the indicated numbers.

“In the general system, registration lines open to all of Lithuania will not be formed,” declared Ž.Pinskuvienė.

Residence didn’t matter

Until now, according to the current procedure, the place of residence was not important when registering for the vaccine in one or another municipality.

So it’s been heard more than once that when a district announced that it would, say, vaccinate everyone who wanted it on the weekend, people from other places would be inundated.

This was the case both in the smaller municipalities and in Vilnius, which at the same time received many more vaccines from other municipalities due to the poor epidemiological situation.

The fact that the general provisions in force are different 15 minutes reaffirmed by the spokesperson for the Minister of Health, Aistė Šukšta.

“All of Lithuania has joined the unified registration system, so vaccination by stages differs from vaccination of priority groups. But for the sake of justice, it must be recognized that it has always been possible to choose the municipality in which to be vaccinated.

Because there are people who feel more comfortable in that city during or immediately after work. Or – work in a city other than the one registered, studying. There are many conditions that affect a person’s decision where to perform this procedure. It was always possible to choose the municipality where I would be vaccinated, ”said A.Šukšta.

The SAM representative did not comment on the Ž.Pinskuvienė decision, calling it “an initiative invented by the mayor.”

Monday in Lithuania a common electronic registration system was launched for vaccination against coronavirus.

All residents of the country are invited to register on the website. www.koronastop.lt.

This week, vaccination will be open to residents over 45, people 35 and older will be able to get vaccinated starting May 24, and everyone else will be able to get the vaccine starting May 31.
