Lithuania and Poland opened their borders

More border crossings, driving tests and foreign languages

On Monday, more border crossing points will start operating on the Lithuanian-Polish border.
Its citizens will also be able to return to Lithuania by car from Poland through the Lazdijai-Aradninkai border checkpoint, the State Border Guard Service announced.

Until now, it was possible to return to Lithuania only through the Kalvarija point.

Foreigners could not enter Poland until Monday.

According to the Lithuanian government resolution adopted on Wednesday, starting May 11, the country can take foreign language proficiency exams to be admitted to foreign universities, limiting the number of people and guaranteeing social distance. Updating driving training is also allowed.

From Friday: free movement in the Baltic States

From Friday, the movement between the Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia) will be free, after the trip you will not need 14 days of compulsory self-isolation.

Starting next Monday, even more freedoms

Quarantine conditions are even more forgiving starting next Monday, May 18.

From this day on, individual trainings will be allowed in sports clubs and group trainings for up to 6 people. Of course, all the protection and hygiene measures mentioned above are necessary. It must take effect on May 18.

Given that the risk of spreading the virus outdoors is much lower than indoors, events of up to 30 participants will be allowed in open spaces from May 18 (next Monday).

They could take place only if at least 10 square meters. m of area per person, a distance of at least 2 m is guaranteed between people and the conditions necessary for public health safety, hygiene, and the provision of the necessary personal protective equipment for workers and visitors.

And from May 30, it is proposed to extend this provision to closed spaces, with a maximum of 30 participants.

Starting May 18, social contact services for preschool and preschool education, day centers and employment for children and people with disabilities will be renewed.

Dental services may also begin on May 18. These services, like any other health care service, may be provided after approval of the plan for the gradual renewal and provision of infection control in the facilities and its presentation to the National Center for Public Health under the Ministry of Health.

The ban on visiting patients, except for terminally ill patients and children under the age of 14, with the permission of the attending physician, will also be changed from the beginning of quarantine. Starting next Monday, all beauty services will be allowed, as long as the flow of service users and other visitors is restricted. Beauty service providers must guarantee the necessary conditions for the security of public health, hygiene and the provision of people with the necessary personal protective equipment.

As of May 18, it is expected that work will be organized in the public sector and clients will be attended to, guaranteeing the necessary conditions for public health safety, hygiene, and the provision of people with the necessary personal protective equipment. or remotely.
