The baby’s body was found in the decomposition stage after about 10 days, reports the Klaipėda District Court.

When questioned during the trial, AS pleaded guilty and proved that on the day of the incident, she put the girl to bed, drank alcohol and fell asleep. When he woke up, the baby was already dead. She was scared, left the house after a while and did not tell anyone about the boy’s death due to the fright.

When imposing the sentence, the court took into account that the AS committed a crime by negligence, previously it was illegal, did not work, as well as the mitigating – the woman confessed to the crime and repented, and the aggravating – the crime. alcohol and this has contributed to the commission of the crime. Having assessed all the above circumstances, the court found the woman guilty and sentenced her to one year in prison.

As the criminal act was negligent in nature, the AS was not previously convicted, there was no other data that characterizes it negatively in the case, the court postponed the execution of the woman’s sentence for a year and a half. The UA is also obliged to start work or register with the employment service within 3 months, not to leave the city (district) of residence without the permission of the supervising institution and to participate in the correction program of conduct.

The judgment can be appealed to the Klaipėda Regional Court within 20 days from the date of its publication via the Klaipėda City Hall of the Klaipėda District Court.
