You are going to work abroad for a month.

The Ministry claims that now all employees work remotely, some are not from Vilnius, but the only deputy minister works outside of Lithuania.

“J. Jakštienė has reported that he is not currently working from Lithuania. He has not gone on vacation, but to continue working, ”Tomas Kavaliauskas, spokesperson for the Minister of Social Security and Labor, Monika Navickienė, told the BNS on Friday.

He clarified that the deputy minister remains in the Valencian Community.

The Minister’s representative also said that J. Jakštienė went to Spain for a month this week, but did not specify the reasons.

“They are completely personal reasons, she does not want to go into details, because she thinks they are things that directly affect her person, but they are not vacations,” said T. Kavaliauskas.

During the week – a few days off

The representative of the Minister stressed that J. Jakštienė is not on vacation in Spain, but combines the management of “personal affairs” with work, taking several days off a week.

“She has left with the permission of the ministry to do so. She does the job and since she has declared her departure a personal matter, she says goodbye when she does. She carries out her work duties and manages her personal affairs during the holidays, ”said the Minister’s representative.

“Yesterday he was on vacation and did not go anywhere, apparently he had no personal business in any meeting. Today he works full time, joins all meetings, participates and discusses,” he said.

According to T. Kavaliauskas, in case of urgent need, the Deputy Minister would return to Lithuania, but the possibility of substitution is also foreseen.

“If it is necessary to return to Lithuania in an additional case, the Vice Minister will return as soon as possible. The matter is discussed so that if it were a matter of extreme urgency, he would be replaced by another Vice Minister who could carry out his duties at that time. functions, the Vice Minister would be on his way, ”said the Minister’s representative.

The subordinate minister’s job is satisfied.

T. Kavaliauskas said that the Head of the Ministry, M. Navickienė, was satisfied with the work of the Deputy Minister.

“The position of the Minister is that every employee who works in the Ministry of Social Security and Labor has the right to work remotely and combine teleworking with family matters, in a flexible way, as is convenient for the employee. It is important that this does not interfere with the performance of the main functions of the work ”, said the representative of the Minister.

He also said that the entire ministry is currently working remotely.

“Currently, all employees of the Ministry of Social Security and Labor work remotely. There are quite a few, to be precise, I will not say those who do not work from Vilnius. They report it by submitting requests so that they can do so, ”said T. Kavaliauskas.

According to him, the most important thing for the ministry is to carry out the assigned functions. Where an employee works from is not that important.

“From where they connect, the ministry does not ask in detail. If they declare it, the request is simply accepted. The most important thing for the Ministry is that the person performs the functions assigned to him from a distance. Since until now everyone is working remotely and the work does not stop, no matter where the person connects from, this, according to the ministry, is not a problem from where the person will connect. The most important thing is that he does that job, ”said the minister’s representative.

“Another thing is that the ministry firmly supports the will of the employees to reconcile the family and work regimes. The only request for employees is that they perform their assigned functions in a proper and timely manner, ”he added.

T. Kavaliauskas also stated that currently, without Deputy Minister J. Jakštienė, there are no more Ministry employees working from abroad, but there are “a significant number” of those who do not work from Vilnius.

“As far as we know, there are none, but there is an important part that does not work from Vilnius, from other Lithuanian cities, places and the like,” said a spokesman for the Minister of Social Security and Labor.

J. Jakštienė, Deputy Minister of Social Security and Labor, took office at the end of February, oversees the issues of social integration of the disabled.

Before joining the Deputy Minister, J. Jakštienė headed the Social Security Infrastructure Projects Division and Strategic Planning Group at the Central Agency for Project Management, and worked at the Vilnius City Municipal Administration.

The Deputy Minister has a Master of Social Demography from Vytautas Magnus University and a Master of Sociology from Vilnius University.
