Ukmergiškė Inga (real name known to the editorial board) He agreed to tell the news portal tv3.lt and remember the tragedy in his life that occurred a year and a half ago. The woman is convinced that it is necessary to educate Lithuanians on the issue of donation. For people who still believe in various myths, a woman sends a message: “On earth we live only in the form of rent.”
The disaster happened in the courtyard.
Today, Inga and her young children still live in the Ukmergė district. Here, the woman’s parents are especially helpful.
Speaking of the disaster that had previously rocked her family, Inga recalls that her son was only six years old at the time and her daughter was only 2.5 years old. The disaster, which killed Inga’s husband, who was only 28, took place in the family’s backyard.
“One fine day I received an urgent message that there was a disaster in the yard. By this time, the planned car service in the yard was almost installed. The man worked with the tires installed. He opened the trailer, he wanted to retread the tire because someone was suspicious of him.
He hadn’t even unscrewed the tire yet, he had just lifted it. He sat down to relax and suddenly hit him. It was so strong that it was not the tire itself that exploded, it exploded with the entire wheel, the bottom of the car. The blow was so strong that it destroyed everything ”, recalls the woman about the fateful tragedy of the family.
The brain died
Inga’s husband was diagnosed with a skull base fracture after the accident.
“At that time I did not understand, I thought, maybe surgery was needed, maybe somehow it would save him,” said the interlocutor, assuring him that the doctors had told him that night that it was not worth waiting for a good knowledge of a woman:
“That same night, the doctors told me that death was diagnosed here. After the disaster, we managed to drive to Vilnius. We lost our breath at the reception, then the doctors still tried to grasp vital functions, to see what the consequences are. And the consequences were like this … “
Inga recalls that after all the exhaustive investigation, the doctors reported the saddest news: her husband’s brain was dead.
“And a person cannot live without a brain”, the woman does not stop crying.
The fateful words of a man
It was especially difficult for a woman to realize that her husband’s brain was dead. According to the woman, everything seemed so natural to her, the man lay connected to the device, it seemed that he would soon be transported for surgery and recovered.
“A man appears to be breathing, but has been diagnosed with death. At that moment, the doctor called me at the office and then I learned that we can help six more people with this problem, ”Inga recalls the moment she found out about the possible donation.
The mother-of-two reveals she was in the mood before the donation before the man’s disaster, but the woman says she spoke about it with her husband:
“It was long before the donation before my husband’s disaster. We talked to him about donating and he was definitely against it. I thought I would die with all the organs, and my husband always said: if you needed it, would you want to get it?
So I answered yes. And he told me a phrase that I remember until now: “If you want to receive, pay and give.” It is the moment when I had to make a decision, I understood what he wanted to tell me. “
Two little boys were left without a father
When Inga had to make the decision to donate a man’s organs, her husband’s relatives were by her side. They all unanimously decided that the donation was definitely worth contributing.
“We all answered unequivocally the same, and we really do not regret it that day or today,” said the widow.
She lived with her husband Inga for eight years. During that time, the couple had two children. The seven-year-old son, who is left without a father, still remembers his father, who has become an authority, and constantly looks at various images with his mother. And here the man’s little daughter does not remember the father. You will probably learn and perceive from an adult about the fateful disaster and the exciting step taken by your mother.
Inga says that her husband had an infinitely good heart, so it was from him that the woman learned kindness and understanding towards another:
“He was a man who taught me to be good and to thank everyone. Smile all the time, whether it hurts or hurts. For me, he was the greatest authority from which I could learn and speak on serious matters.
He kept saying that he would die first because loneliness would not last, and I repeated the strange themes he was talking about. However, I am very happy that we are talking about death, because the decision to donate was quite easy, we did not have to think much, ”the woman opens.
Gave a second chance to others
In Lithuania, it is not possible to know to whom the organs of relatives went after transplants. Also, patients who have received organs do not have the opportunity to find out which person saved their life.
Inga herself says that she would be very curious to know who got her husband’s organs, but she’s glad that people who were destined for a second chance live somewhere right here:
“At first you long for that person a lot, you always think that you will only see his eyes … But then you realize that there will be no equal eyes, because he is just a simple piece of skin. After all, you will have no coincidences that I see my man.
Of course, I would like to meet those people and see, ask them what they feel. But I really don’t want that to panic, because I understand them too, it’s not easy for them either.
I’m glad they get a second chance that we didn’t. I’m glad our particle is beating somewhere for the second time. “
Saved the lives of six people
Inga’s husband, who suffered a tragic disaster, died, but saved the lives of six more people who had two corneas, two kidneys, a liver and a spleen transplanted. Inga is convinced that this is the best decision she has made in her life, which would be supported by the man who protects her from above.
“I think people should have understanding and faith. Abandon beliefs so negative that, as I was born, I will die. I don’t know if souls need organs.
We live here only in our rented ways, so we must educate people so that they can save other people’s lives with their decision. ”The woman is convinced to donate her man’s organs.
Invites to light a candle
On Friday, October 9, the Lithuanian Association “Gyvastis” invites you to honor organ donors and participate in the lighting of candles. This year is the seventh time that 14 cities and towns will be flooded with candles. This time 1779 donors will be honored.
People who live with a transplanted organ see this event as a token of gratitude, respect and memory towards their donor, since there is no other way to thank the deceased.
