Representatives of various professions that deserve Kaunas, including the directors of all universities located in the city, received Santaka badges of honor of the first, second and third degrees, silver medals from the mayor of the city of Kaunas Jonas Vileitis, Kaunas Culture Awards and sculptures of the symbol of the city of Kaunas – Tauras.

The portal kauno.diena.lt interviewed three famous Kaunas residents awarded with the Santaka badge of honor of the first degree: the rector of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, the well-known cardiac surgeon Professor Rimantas Benetis, the metropolitan archbishop from Kaunas Kęstutis Kėvalas and the well-deserved Lithuanian coach in the basketball team and in the Lithuanian national team, Alexander Kosauskas, Doctor Honoris Causa of the Lithuanian Health University. And thanking Kaunas, I want to say that it is becoming more beautiful and more and more attractive, it is making our university the same, not only for Lithuanians, but also for foreigners ”.

Before receiving this honorable award on the kauno.diena.lt portal, K. Kėvalas said: “First of all, it is an unusually great obligation, because I have been in this position recently. And I don’t think it has any particular merit yet. I accept it as a great trust from the city and a commitment to work for the common good of the Kaunas community. For me, as a resident of Kaunas, it is a great honor, although I think there are many more people who deserve it. “
