“It just came to our knowledge then. The participants had to compete in a wide variety of weather conditions, to test their strength with almost marginal wind force and patience in weaker wind conditions. One day I even had to stay on land for the heat. We sincerely congratulate the winning team, they were truly inviolable this year! “said Mantas Klimantavičius, president of the Good Wind Club, who organized the competition, after the end of the championship.
On the first day of the championship, the sailors stopped at the starting line with a wind of up to 25 knots (about 13 m / s), which is the final limit of the wind force, when the yachts are still allowed to leave. Platu 25 class. According to the sailors, the race that day was truly a physical and technical challenge, with at least some crews experiencing technical problems.

On the second day the milder wind conditions prevailed, and on the third day the sailors had to stay ashore generally due to the heat. However, on the last day of the race, the wind rose again almost to the limit, so the championship was completed in a truly competitive atmosphere.
There were also incidents on the last day of the distance. When one crew experienced a rudder failure and the yacht became unmanageable, the other two crews, sailing side by side and trying to avoid an unmanaged yacht, collided with each other. One of these yachts suffered severe hull damage.
Throughout the entire race, the Bestija yacht crew, led by Captain Algirdas Žižis, took the lead.
In the final standings, they scored 12 penalty points and nearly doubled their closest competitors, the Pandora yacht crew, who scored 21 penalty points.
