The cross of Skvernelis to the ministers of Šimonytė: with such a team I would not sail in the stormy ocean even as a passenger

When asked to evaluate the possible composition of the Cabinet of Ministers, S. Skvernelis said that the evaluation of the candidates is not correct yet, as the surnames may be provisional.

“We do not know the final decision of the president. Finally, my colleague Ingrida has not yet been appointed Prime Minister. I think that when it is approved by the Prime Minister in the Seimas, it will be a formal requirement to present the Cabinet of Ministers to the President, and then maybe those last names will change, ”S. Skvernelis told reporters on Wednesday.

Lack of ministerial powers

In the end, however, he was critical of the preliminary list of ministers.

“It just came to our attention then. I really believe that my colleague, Mr. Ingrid, is a brave colleague, very brave, very, very, very brave. She is an experienced captain. But with a team like that, I wouldn’t sail in the stormy ocean not even as a passenger, “added S. Skvernelis.

The Prime Minister lacks some of the preliminary knowledge of suitable candidates to work as ministers.

“There really are people who deserve these positions. But there are such strange personalities or candidates. Another common characteristic is that there are really many people who do not have any knowledge about the public sector, public function, public administration, management.

It will be extremely difficult for them. I also had several of those ministers. But practice has shown that even curious people who want to learn haven’t been able to acquire those niceties and twists in a couple of years, ”recalled S. Skvernelis.

It is true that he refused to evaluate the candidates as individual candidates.

A clear list of ministers
