As soon as we opened the door to the room, we were shocked, because we really weren’t expecting to see such a video at midnight.

But the biggest impression was left by the surprise on the table, a compliment from the hotel restaurant kitchen for those who come in the evening. They prepared us sandwiches of various tastes and one-bite sandwiches, as well as red, lush Portuguese, from Alicante bouschet It came from a variety of grapes.

It turns out that the hotel welcomes all late arrivals, because when booking a hotel room, the price includes such a small but memorable dinner. We were impressed, it is a unique experience.

In the morning, another pleasant experience is a rich breakfast made with natural products, mostly local, served directly on the terrace, which can be accessed from the room.

So breakfast on a sunny morning and an unexpected welcome in the middle of the night left a deep impression.

For longer stays, you can enjoy the special treatments provided by the artificial sun, which is located in the basement of the hotel next to the pool. Or take in the expansive view of the Saka River, floating boats or the waves of the Baltic Sea in the distance.

Sailing is possible every day, of course, depending on the weather and the calm of the sea. If the weather is good, you can admire sunrises, sunsets or stars at night. It is true that this entertainment must be planned in advance (Vecā Ostmala str. 39, Liepaja). The price of a two-hour yacht trip is 120 euros. Also, you can sail from Liepaja to Pavilosta and back. This route takes about 6 hours and costs 320 euros (for 4 people).

And what to do in the center of Liepaja?

The old town of Liepaja is worth noting. Before dinner, when the sky cleared, we got to know the heart of this port city. In Liepaja you can see buildings of all ages and architecture style. Here are 18 uniqueXIX amtowers and steeples of majestic churches rise to the sky.

The famous Austrian architect Professor Folker Ginke chose the symbol of Latvia and other Baltic countries, amber, on the basis of the concert hall project. The room’s acoustics and lighting were created by world leaders in their fields: Professor Karlhainc Miller from Germany and Professor Christian Bartenbach from Austria.

After a very rainy lunch in Liepaja, we chose an outdoor rooftop terrace in the heart of the city overlooking the old town – Grillbar CukurFabrik Rooftop terrace (Stendera str. 18, Liepaja). It was a very good choice when it was raining and the western sun was shining.

Here we order salmon tartare, a salad with meat torn and cooked for a long time, and for dessert, cake and ice cream.

And, of course, coffee. As always in Latvia, it’s great.
