The coronavirus took the life of a doctor from Šilutė: on the eve of his death, he consoled that it was difficult for him to breathe

J. Mickienė was extremely warm in communication, never declining to help, he advised. Even though she was older, she always said that she didn’t want to rest, that she still felt needed by the patients.

The coronavirus doctors were diagnosed on October 15. She was treated at home for a while, she felt good enough. Later, the doctor’s health deteriorated and on Sunday she was taken to Klaipeda University Hospital. J. Mickienė died on Tuesday.

“I spoke with her on the phone on Monday, the doctor said that she felt bad, she had difficulty breathing. But no one expected her to leave. This news surprised us all, ”Alvydas Vaičiūnas, one of the leaders of“ Sustainability in health ”, told Šilutė News.

J. Mickienė moved to Šilutė 35 years ago. The doctor has been working at the Health Sustainability Family Medical Center since the first day of its opening, for approximately 20 years. For many years, the doctor also worked in the Department of Childhood Diseases at Šilutė Hospital. She was attentive to both small patients and the elderly.

It is not yet known where and when it will be possible to fire J. Mickienė.
