Previously, J.Narkevičius did not attend meetings of the opposition factions a couple of times and was invited to explain the scandals in which he was involved, for example, the business trip to Abu Dhabi and the like.

Today’s agenda for the Minister of Transport is not published on the Ministry’s website.

Instead of himself, J.Narkevičius sent Vyacheslav Zaks, Senior Advisor to the Director of the State Health Insurance Fund (VLK), to the Seimas TS-LKD faction meeting.

Kęstutis Štaras, Director of the Center Polyclinic, Jurgita Sejonienė, Vice President of the Lithuanian Medical Movement, and Rolandas Rastauskas, Chief Physician of the Pasvalys Hospital, were also invited to the meeting of the Seimas TS-LKD faction.

Many problems

Despite the end of the quarantine, certain restrictions were maintained in the treatment facilities.

Last week, VLK presented data on how treatment facilities provided treatment services in June.

It is noted that public health institutions were far from complying with ambulatory service contracts in June and the like.

According to K.Star, peripheral hospitals are in a poor position, not everyone can resume service delivery.

Vida Augustinienė, President of the Council of Representatives of Lithuanian Patient Organizations (LPOAT), explained that there are many complaints from the population about the fact that they cannot receive treatment services.

He also mentioned his example of not receiving an ultrasound since January.

According to V. Augustinienė, the problem is also in the reimbursement of the medicines.

J.Sejonienė mentioned that the coronavirus pandemic and quarantine have worsened the situation, especially for those who need help now. Although we have one of the largest networks of medical services, we have not been able to exploit it.

According to her, the situation is undoubtedly worse in the periphery, where the availability of treatment services is less.

Remote queries, as J.Sejonienė thinks, are not bad, they can and should be provided. However, he noted that patients complain about not being able to call and the like.

In all its beauty, the problems of the electronic health system were revealed on Monday after the rain in Vilnius. The operation of the records and information systems maintained by the Records Center was interrupted.

According to J.Sejonienė, the electronic health system has not worked since yesterday, both doctors and patients are concerned.

R. Rastauskas, the chief physician of the Pasvalys Hospital, said that the situation is not the same in all hospitals. In some hospitals, there are enough patients.

However, let’s say there are no queues at district hospitals, medical facilities are only waiting for patients. People don’t get referrals because they don’t go to family doctors. R. Rastauskas emphasized that primary health care centers are still working in quarantine conditions.

Without access to family doctors in public medical facilities, some residents choose private clinics.

R. Rastauskas also mentioned that, according to A.Veryga’s requirements, fever clinics are still operating, although they work several hours a week.

Deputy Director of the National Cancer Institute for Research and Development,
Acting Director Sonata Jarmalaitė said the hospital beds are empty, patients are welcome. Due to the closure of district polyclinics.

She noted that a second wave of coronavirus was brewing before the first wave ended.

A. Primary support

Although the quarantine in Lithuania was lifted on June 16, patients are still not free to receive part of the planned or inpatient treatment services.

The government has issued an ultimatum at the slow pace of pre-quarantine work: if interruptions in scheduled service delivery persist through September, the money paid to them may decrease, the transition to paying for services actually provided.

Vygantas Sudaris, the head of Pakruojis Hospital, the head of the Lithuanian Association of District Hospitals, is confused: they cannot provide more services precisely because of the valid requirements set by A.Veryga.
