The committees of the Lithuanian and Polish parliaments planned a joint work

According to the Seimas Chancellery, the Polish parliamentarians emphasized that January 13 was significant not only for Lithuania, but also for the Central European region, as it laid the foundations for the liberation of other countries from the totalitarian regime and accelerated the formation of the Visegrad Group.

According to the report, both committees will adopt a statement on February 4 on the occasion of the 275th anniversary of the birth of Tadas Kosciuska. Representatives of the United States Congressional Foreign Affairs Committee and the Belarusian opposition are also invited to contribute to the statement.

Marek Kuchcinski, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm, also accepted the invitation to attend Konstantin Kalinauskas’ second international conference to be held in the Lithuanian Seimas on March 22.

At the same time, representatives of the Lithuanian Parliament were invited to participate in the Visegrad, the three Baltic States and the Bucharest Ninth meetings organized by the Polish Seimas and the “Carpathian Europe” conference.

During the joint committee meeting, Polish parliamentarians also expressed support for the Lublin Quartet initiative initiated by the President of Lithuania.
