“We are happy to return to work, but passenger and crew safety is paramount in aviation. This area is highly regulated and will always be a priority, and the COVID-19 pandemic will lead to additional health measures in flight. We are ready to meet all the necessary requirements to guarantee the comfort and safety of passengers during the flight, “says Darius Viltrakis, CEO of GetJet Airlines.
The charter airline offers recommendations to passengers.
To make traveling simple and safe, GetJet Airlines shares tips on how to behave before, at the airport, and on the plane throughout the flight:
Before the flight:
- Information on travel restrictions in the destination region needs to be verified and national security requirements taken into account;
- It is recommended to register online for the flight, thus reducing possible queues and direct contact at the check-in counter at the airport;
- Additional services (such as meals) are recommended in advance;
- You can carry disinfecting wipes or hand sanitizer that meets the level of liquid allowed in your carry-on luggage;
- Passengers should stay home if they feel bad. People with symptoms of a respiratory infection will not be allowed on the plane.
In the airport:
- Passengers can only enter the airport with valid boarding passes or airline tickets. When it melts or meets travelers, you must wait outside;
- A protective mask covering the mouth and nose should be worn at the airport. This can be a cloth or surgical mask;
- Airport hand sanitizers are recommended whenever available;
- As far as possible, it is recommended to keep a greater distance from other passengers and pay attention to signs or physical obstacles that indicate the safety distance requirements;
- Avoid unnecessary meetings of people, physical contacts;
- At airports, passengers’ body temperatures can be measured (health measurements may be different at each airport);
- At some airports, lounges may be temporarily closed. The latest information can be found on the website of each airport.

During boarding:
- Boarding will start from the last queues, so passengers will have to wait for their group to be invited to board;
- Passengers must wear a face mask that covers their mouth and nose when boarding an airplane;
- It is recommended that you prepare your boarding passes in advance and scan them on a contactless device, showing your travel document to the shipping agent;
- To maintain a safe distance, fewer passengers will be boarded on airport buses that are constantly disinfected.
On board:
- Passengers must wear protective masks throughout the trip;
- Crew members must wear masks and protective gloves;
- The company’s aircraft are regularly cleaned and disinfected. After each flight, all commonly used surfaces are thoroughly cleaned: armrests, backrests, folding dining tables, seat belt locks, air switches and lights, upper luggage carrier handles, airplane kitchens and bathrooms;
- The aircraft is equipped with a modern air filtration system: the air supplied to the passenger cabin is filtered during the flight with high-efficiency HEPA filters, which clean the air of particles and pathogens;
- To reduce contact between passengers and crew members, the provision of additional services on board will be simplified;
- Movement of passengers in the aircraft cabin will be restricted;
- Food and drinks on board will be available in a single menu. All products are individually prepared and packed before the flight in accordance with strict hygiene requirements;
- Payment by plane will only be possible with bank payment cards. Cash will not be accepted;
- After the flight, passengers will be disembarked in smaller groups.
