The Council of Experts of the Government proposes to the Government to allow all large surfaces with separate entrances from the outside, ensuring an area determined by buyer, the proposals of the Council of Experts are presented by Vaidotas Grigas, Director of the Molėtai Hospital.
A discussion began last week and yesterday the Council of Experts decided to present proposals to the Government on the requirements for commercial companies that supply non-essential goods in an area of more than 300 m2. meter. area, for the resumption of activities ”, says V. Grigas.
According to him, first of all, the number of buyers at the store entrance should be controlled, security measures, disinfectants, partitions, etc. should be provided. It is suggested that employers test employees and check their temperature.
The next government meeting at which the proposed decisions could be made will take place on Wednesday.
“There is an economy, we have noticed that with the liberation of small companies, hairdressers and similar activities, the situation does not get worse. It is not that it is improving, we are in a phase where the situation is not improving as we would like. Little by little we are solving problems that we can still open and we see how this is dynamically changing the situation ”, says V. Grigas.
V. Grigas explained that the area per buyer is not yet completely cleared and would be calculated according to the formula. And the store in general would not be limited, it is important to guarantee entry from the outside.
“The size is based on a certain formula and that size is debatable, not to mention that there are 15 square meters. m, and elsewhere 25 square meters. meter. A decision will be made that will satisfy all parties and will be epidemiologically safe, ”says V. Grigas, noting that the area would be decided by the Government, taking into account the current situation, but the proposed size is more than 20 m2. METER. meters.
Quarantine in Vilnius
Access to the stores, according to experts, would be possible through the use of medical masks or respirators, restricting access to more than two people at a time. Supermarkets could ensure that shoppers can purchase a medical mask on the spot and other masks or cloth protectors cannot be used.
Such an offer would be relevant for large non-food stores, such as IKEA, Senukai, Moki-veži or others.
Supermarket deals – in the near future
It is not yet proposed to open stores in supermarkets; the impact of individual store openings on the pandemic situation should be assessed.
“This issue is still being resolved, there will be discussions with the managers of the supermarkets,” says V. Grigas. He explained that the issue will be discussed later this week: “We will make proposals in the near future.”
Greek Vaidotas
He also hinted that the epidemiological situation will continue to be monitored, without decisions being made during the Easter holidays to evaluate the epidemiological situation.
“We will see how the virus will behave, its variant, which already exists in Lithuania, and is different in different regions, we will definitely focus on that,” says V. Grigas.
The plan to release quarantine restrictions, prepared by the same panel of experts, provides for more conservative measures to liberalize trade in the face of a better epidemiological situation.
“This plan, which we must adhere to and, in part, actually fulfill, is a guide. We fully understand and react to the situation, suggestions are made, because if we wait for those moments and do nothing, then who is this expert advice and other actions for, we would only wait for the indicators ”, says V. Grigas.
To be decided by the Government
The final decision on the experts’ proposal will be made by the Government; it can be adjusted or rejected.
“The issues could already be discussed in the government, what decision the government will make, from when it will be applied, it is their right to do so,” said V. Grig.
The Health Ministry has not yet been able to indicate when such a proposal could be presented to the Government. Advisor to Minister Aistė Šukšta explained that negotiations are still ongoing.
According to the current Government Resolution, only those non-essential goods stores, kiosks and pavilions with an area that does not exceed 300 m2. meters, which have separate entrances from the field, which are not in the markets, stores must provide less – 20 square meters. meters per visitor.
At that time, the area in grocery stores is not limited, 15 square meters applies to one customer. meter. area limitation. Vendors of veterinary medicine, feed, pharmaceuticals, flowers, optical items, and orthotics can also operate in such conditions.
