The audacity has no limits: some Lithuanians have even falsified vaccination records; the consequences will be very unpleasant

The ministry has received reports of cases in which residents ask to create a registry confirming the fact of vaccination but not injecting the vaccine itself. Sometimes a reward is offered for this.

SAM recalls that it is not the vaccination record but the vaccine itself that protects against severe COVID-19 illness or death. Furthermore, such cunning attempts can have unpleasant legal consequences.

Both the falsification of documents and the use of a falsified document, the bribery of a public official or a person equal to him, bribery, the abuse of office of a public servant or a person equal to him are acts provided for in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania, for which the strictest type of liability applies.

For these acts, people can be punished not only with a fine or arrest, but also with imprisonment of up to three, four or even five years.

In each particular case, the act is classified according to the established factual circumstances.

Employees of vaccination establishments must inform law enforcement authorities in the event of requests for falsification of vaccination documents and attempted bribery.

Upon receiving falsified vaccination record reports, the SAM will also forward them to law enforcement authorities.

The ministry asks the population to refrain from carrying out illegal actions and to take care of their health and well-being and that of their families in a safe and effective way, by getting vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease.
