This council also advises the president on international pandemic management issues prior to its meetings in the European Council.

Having received suspicions from the security forces, R. Mažeika worked in the work organization group of the health institutions of this council.

In a Special Investigation Service (STT) investigation into the hiring of medical institutions, complaints have already been filed against 51 individuals, including 29 representatives of private companies and 22 employees of medical institutions, nine of whom are heads of medical institutions.

Among them are Narimantas Markevičius, Director of Vilnius City Clinical Hospital, Daiva Kanopienė, Director of Šeškinė Polyclinic, Olegas Kačanas, Chief Physician of Vilnius District Nemenčinė Polyclinic, Stasys Skauminas, Director of Kėdainiai Hospital, Antanas Martusevičius, Director from the Plungė District Municipal Care Center, Remigijus Mažeika, director of the Šiauliai Republican Hospital, Vilija Kristina Židonienė, head of the Naujininkai Polyclinic in the capital, and Paulius Vasilavičius, director of the Jonava Hospital.

The allegations were also brought against the director of Limeta, Virginijus Domarkas, the director of Limeta NT, the shareholder of both companies, Kęstutis Kutkauskas, and the director of Graina, Erlandas Sudeikis.

In the investigation, more than 150 records were made, more than 330 thousand were found. cash in euros. Law enforcement agencies also claimed to have recorded times of possible bribery transfers.

Most of the suspects are in pretrial detention – written promises not to leave. A suspect, E. Sudeikis, was arrested. The prosecution also requested the arrest of V. Domarkas and K. Kutkauskas, but the court did not comply with these requests.

The investigation of the Central Investigation Board of the STT is controlled, organized and directed by a group of prosecutors from the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Directorate of the Attorney General’s Office and the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Divisions of the Prosecutor’s Offices District.
