According to the press release, the cycle of performances on the second day of the festival was started by the young and energetic 21st Century Quintet (Lithuania). The musicians wowed the audience with youthful enthusiasm, unadulterated sincerity, unique compositions and vibrant energy, which were complemented by the band’s leading saxophonist, Davit Avetisyan, with Armenian folk music motifs. Subsequently, the saxophone virtuoso Petras Vyšniauskas entered the scene, in whose hands the instrument revived and masterfully created jazz improvisations, with the support of the Kaunas Big Band, received great support from the public. The musician, who is called the symbol of Lithuanian jazz and glorifies Lithuania at the most prestigious jazz festivals in the world, never disappoints listeners. Unsurprisingly, the audience greeted him with much applause and enjoyed the heart-pounding romantic romance, the magical performance of the big stage throughout the performance.
Halfway through the program, according to the report, a young but undoubtedly promising ensemble appeared on stage, infecting listeners with positivity and good humor: “Amber Hunters.” This is a joint project of musicians from Lithuania, the United States, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Kazakhstan. During the performance, members of a group from different cultures from different countries formed original compositions and improvisations in the funk fusion style. Listeners listened and appreciated his distinctive musical style. The biggest surprise for the audience was the performance of the band leader, drummer Kaspars Petkus on stage. “Very cool people” from Riga ended happily on Friday night.
