The 26th Spring of Cinema has begun: the most prominent figures of art and culture gathered for the ceremony | Names

“Act and / or be?” – the festival theme, which sounds like an existential question, will invite viewers to watch “Kino pavasario” movies virtually this year. The festival, which will take place from March 18 to April 5, will feature works of various genres.

Some 104 films are expected to be screened, 44 of which will be short. In addition, they will include award-winning works at the recently concluded Berlinale, participants from the European debut competition and Lithuanian premieres.

And to feel the spirit of cinemas, viewers will be invited to watch specially prepared hotel films in Vilnius and Kaunas. Therefore, it is not surprising that the annual visitors to the festival, various people of art and culture, did not resist this idea either.

They gathered for the 26th opening ceremony of the Cinema Spring at the Hotel Pacai, where they will kick off the festival with the film by Iranian director No Evil.

Just before the solemn ceremony, the director of Kino Pavasaris agreed to share her thoughts on this year’s festival and the feelings it evokes. Ramaškienė Life.

“There are many people who could describe that situation and the mood, there is nothing new here, but it is probably essential that this exceptional time is dedicated to creativity. I am pleased to note that our team is particularly creative. She always wants something and surprises not only the spectators, but also herself, ”said V. The woman assured that the opening of the festival this year is carried out with all the security requirements: the guests will be photographed only in the hotel and in the rooms they will watch movies with their relatives, without external contacts.

“My husband and I also bought tickets, I was just curious to try. On the other hand, it is an attraction, because you also want to change the environment, you can think of some work at home, and here you just spend time at the movies.

And I should and would like to see the movies “Social Hygiene”, “Africa”. Together with the team, we already had the opportunity to see, we will see the next part during the festival, ”revealed the festival director, adding that he longed to go to the cinema and especially to the premiere in Lithuania and abroad.

An actress who never misses a festival Larisa Kalpokaitė and appeared at this year’s grand opening. Together with her husband Jonas Braškis, she even came to a farm in the country, where she rests from the hustle and bustle of the city. But this fuss is cute for couples. “It just came to our attention then. My acting as an actress is closed, but actually I would say that a lot has been done under these conditions. I believe that every actor or person who works in this field has the opportunity to prepare for the next season.

First of all, we can inform the world through social goals that you are healthy, alive, still able and willing to work. And secondly, keep quiet in that moment, not get lost, because it is very easy to attack apathy, without knowing what to do. Understand that this is a new opportunity to live because everything has stopped. You have to be with you to decide with yourself, I think that name describes the lives of artists ”, L. Kalpokaitė is convinced.

The actress admits that this event causes her a feeling of nostalgia: every smile, conversation, meeting people makes her happy.

“I missed the smiles, the familiar faces, the decorations, the groups, the fading darkness, the presentation and the smiles of Vida Ramaškienė, the good movies of the volunteers who help. They seem like simple things, of course. We miss everything, but now we have the opportunity to prepare for the next stage.

We will still have to live with this disease until we all adjust. I think the time of year provided an opportunity to appreciate my neighbor, to appreciate the father next door, the lives of the people. For example, they taught me forgiveness and the search for good in a person, good qualities, ”says L. Kalpokaitė about what he learned last year.

L. Kalpokaitė and her husband Jonas do not intend to watch the festival films in hotels, they will do so safely at home. However, the actress promises to see more than two films this time, after all, now there is much more time.

“It just came to our knowledge then. He sent me the logins, then I will see everything he can. As we were in the village, there was no information. The connection with us is possible, we have internet. In the past, I only entered one , two films, because there were performances, performances, and now there will be none, I will just watch from patriotism “Cinema for spring”, – the actress smiled.

The woman claims that being at home has changed her attitude towards cinema, now she no longer knows what it means to traditionally watch a movie. The situation forced me to look for other ways to see my favorite works.

“I think I basically miss the option of being light, of the everyday light. And, of course, for me, a person from the cultural sector, it is very difficult to breathe when there is little culture around, when I feel very thirsty, longing. “Kino pavasaris” is a highly anticipated and very popular festival every year.

I drove to the airport to see more than one movie. This year, we will also sit on the sofas in our house and watch comfortably. I want to do it in the usual way, but I don’t know what that traditional way of watching movies means anymore. The future is uncertain, just try to adapt to the circumstances. So I’m glad that “Kino pavasaris” didn’t stop, it was able to be flexible, “says Gabrielė.

A photographer who attended the opening of the festival. Naglis Bierancas He admitted that he had not yet managed to review this year’s film program. However, he assured that he really likes to see the works of “Kino pavasario”, so he really wants to see him.

“I miss most of the restaurants and cafes where you took food out of the box. I also miss cinema and cinema, which is what I like the most about here. Anyway, I wonder what it will be like with those movies, but now a lot of movies will go from different platforms, because there was nothing good in theaters, “recalls Naglis.

N. Bierancas is also happy with the novelty of this year’s festival: film screenings in hotels.

“It just came to our knowledge then. I want to go. I missed those activities in Lithuania. All things considered, it is so interesting that instead of going to the cinema, we will watch the opening movie in the hotel room. More and more interesting than at home. .

Anyway, I always saw “Kino pavasaras” at home, everything is fine with that, but now it comes out as the first event, so we are really looking forward to it, “he says.
