“Educators working in preschool, preschool, primary education institutions and special schools, there are about 10 thousand of them in Vilnius. According to G. Ropaitė-Beigė, there is an opportunity to conduct a preventive examination of another 2000 teachers. However, according to her, educators who have already been approved for COVID-19 are not screened, so the number of tests performed is likely to be less.
“Some of them really knew they had antibodies, that they really had COVID-19, so they just didn’t go through that rapid serological test,” he said.
The director of the Vilnius Public Health Office was pleased that the teachers were actively investigating.
“The volumes are large, we test about 820 employees of educational institutions every day after allowing rapid serological tests,” said G. Ropaitė-Beigė.
