According to the state company Turto bankas, the sale and purchase agreement of the old hospital in the Žvėrynas district was signed on Wednesday. The building complex was sold at auction on July 29, with a total of eight participants competing in it, and Power Group Property offered the highest price for the object.

“We are very happy not so much with the successful sale of this object as with the fact that the funds received will be used.
for the construction of a new building of great importance: the Pediatric Building of the Santara Clinics of Vilnius University.

Mindaugas Sinkevičius, Managing Director of Turto bankas, says that the state company is happy with the successful sale of the object and the fact that the funds received can be used for the construction of the Pediatric Building of the Santara Clinics of Vilnius University – Turto bankas participates in the project as a financier.

“We hope that the new owner of the hospital complex will renovate it properly and make sense of it, and this transaction will provide all the benefits to all parties,” says M. Sinkevičius.

Power Group Property is our family’s real estate management company, which manages Teltonika’s production and office buildings and develops new projects. Construction of new ones has just begun
The Teltonika office building at Saltoniškių 14, and the Teltonika High-Tech Hill offices and factories are being designed
complex in Liepkalnis, ”says Arvydas Paukštys, Director of Teltonika Iot Group, in a press release.

According to him, the idea to participate in the auction of the Vilnius Hospital for Infectious Diseases came after estimating that the funds will be used for the construction of the Pediatric Corps of the VU Santara Clinics.

In his opinion, the participation of the group company in the auction “at least by several million” increased the auction price, which will allow the construction of the building to be completed more quickly.

It suggests that the area should be suitable for health services and that the unique architecture of the buildings should be preserved, including the renovation of worn elements, the replacement of slate tiles, the restoration of building materials and the “adaptation to necessities of modern life “.

“I hope that, with the help of architects and heritage, I can paint a more beautiful picture of these buildings than there is now,” says the director of Teltonika.

He confirmed to the BNS on Wednesday night that the complex could be served by a health or spa service.

“Since this is a hospital, there is such a place, in some health direction, one should think about how to develop it, but it still has to be reconciled with heritage. The buildings will need to be retrofitted and adapted to the operation, and we will focus on that. But you want to adapt to health, because health is the most expensive asset, “he said.

According to the businessman, the family office could also be located in the complex.

As announced, the main hospital building and outbuildings can be restored and adapted for public or commercial use, but cannot be substantially rebuilt, and new ancillary buildings can be constructed on site without exceeding the height requirements in this urban location. .

Last December, the Property Bank canceled the first scheduled auction following a recommendation from the Department of Cultural Heritage to review and clarify the valuable features of the complex.

In June, Darius Daunoras, Head of the Vilnius Municipality Cultural Heritage Protection Branch, told BNS that no buildings listed in the register of cultural values could be demolished, expanded or additional floors could be delivered, but could be adapted to a new function.
