Teachers are responsible for the future of the country
The Palace of Rulers met on four special occasions: to award awards to the Teachers of the Year, a Lithuanian education teacher working outside of Lithuania, to award the winner of the Love Lukšienė Award established by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports , and to congratulate the teachers selected during the Thanks for the Lessons initiative.
Not only teachers gathered for the solemn celebration, the Minister of Education, Science and Sports Algirdas Monkevičius and other guests of honor also came to thank the valuable lessons and to reward the deserving teachers.
“We would like us to feel harmony between the generations. I would like to thank those teachers who were my teachers, our teachers, very much. Let those generations connect. A teacher is happy when his children are happy when they, as adults, find the way to happiness. In each student, the teacher sees a part of himself and is happy if he has contributed to the success of the human path.
Thousands of our teachers are an example for our society. They currently work in difficult conditions. However, the quarantine period, the pandemic, has shown that educational institutions, be it a kindergarten, a preschool or an elementary school, a gym, a university or a university, can be an example of how to intelligently find the better solutions for students in any situation. “- said the Minister.
During the celebration, the First Vice Chancellor of the Government, Lukas Savickas, conveyed the greeting of Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.
“A teacher is very important for the quality of education. We can have the best programs, the most advanced textbooks and wonderful systems, programs or tools, but if the best teacher doesn’t stand in front of the students, we won’t get good results, ”said L. Savickas.
