Wait for teachers to get vaccinated

Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport (ŠMSM) hope that educators will be vaccinated and, if they do not agree to be vaccinated, that they will be tested for coronavirus for at least ten days.

“Educators have the right to be vaccinated, but no legal act requires an obligation. In the ministry itself, we expect teachers to be smart, assess the situation and do it,” TomasM Chancellor Tomas Daukantas said at a conference on press on Thursday.

Educators have the right to be vaccinated, but no legislation requires an obligation.

“What educators must do if they do not get vaccinated should be screened for a contagious disease. Failure to do so imposes an obligation on the employer, if the employer has evidence that the educator has not been vaccinated and screened for communicable diseases, they have the obligation to remove the person and not pay until they have been certified as sick and able to work. ‘- said T. Daukantas.

According to him, said removal procedure is provided for in the Law for the Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases of Humans and applies not only in the specific case of a coronavirus pandemic, but also in the case of any contagious disease.
