This was announced by the Swedish Interior Minister, Mikael Damberg, during a press conference on Sunday.

“The government decided in an urgent meeting to prohibit the entry of Sweden to Norway. The prohibition will be introduced at midnight and will be in effect until February 14,” said the minister.

If necessary, this measure can be expanded, explained M. Damberg. He recalled that the Swedish health services are urging all citizens of Norway to get tested for the coronavirus and isolate themselves for at least a week. The government’s call for immediate detection and isolation applies to people who have visited the neighboring country in the last 14 days, as well as people who live with them.

The Swedish Foreign Ministry also did not recommend that citizens go to Norway on Sunday unless necessary.

To date, 55 cases of new strains of coronavirus infection have been reported in Sweden. Most of those infected have recently visited abroad.
