“I want to address the prime minister and make some suggestions on the communication of the coronavirus,” Surplys said during an hour of government in the Seimas.

The politician said that traffic jams near supermarkets, declaration of residence in the complex and farms reserved for the New Year show that the public is opposed to tightening the quarantine.

“All of this shows that society is protesting; it probably doesn’t want to be an experimental rabbit, see itself through the knowledge of how to limit, attack, fail, treat, or stop treating the masses that need to be limited. It seems to us that we need a social contract with a light at the end of the tunnel, ”said G. Surplys in the Seimas Chamber.

One of the proposals that the parliamentarian named a free concert by the group “U2” after overcoming the pandemic.

“We need an agreement that we will endure from time to time and then celebrate. That is why the European Union (EU), the World Health Organization (WHO) take seriously the explanation that Santa Claus can also travel during the situation of COVID-19, which is why it has probably been targeted at Lithuanian children. (…) An award is definitely needed, we need to know why we are doing it.

For example, we can say “let’s break the curve and take U2 to Lithuania and the concert will be free. It could be the same: “Let’s defeat the coronavirus, build the National Stadium for the millions saved,” G. Surplys named the proposals to Prime Minister I. Šimonyte.

A member of the LVŽS faction said that such agreements would not only speak to the public about the need to follow the requirements and recommendations, but would also show the light at the end of the tunnel.

“Because that life saving, it seems that people no longer work,” concluded the member of Seimas.

“It just came to our notice then. I really like your hairstyle, but maybe you could say that if we hit the amount of 500 boxes you wanted at the end of January, maybe you could entwine the locker, or something. public ”, concluded G. Surplys with his proposal.

Prime Minister I. Šimonytė ironically said that after the quarantine he would have to interlace his pockets, because his hair would already have the required length.

“It just came to our notice then. But you’re probably a better public relations specialist than me. It’s very important to me in this case that people understand the gravity of the situation, that’s why we’re doing it. We’re doing it for freedom. And what is freedom in this case? Vaccine ”, said the Prime Minister to the members of the Seimas.

He explained that the main objective of the strict quarantine rules is very clear: to return to normal life.

“We need to go back to the time when we were living by some administrative means before vaccination, which broke down when the number of cases exceeded 200. And when that government was still in power, then maybe we had to take such measures,” I. Šimonytė said.
