As previously stated by Živilė Simonaitytė, Deputy Minister of Health, this opportunity should appear in the electronic health system on Monday.

The EU digital COVID certificate will be issued to people who have been sick, vaccinated or undergoing coronavirus testing in order to simplify border control procedures. However, each country may set its own requirements for incoming persons.

According to current requirements in Lithuania, no additional restrictions apply to arrivals or returnees vaccinated with coronavirus one week after the second dose of Pfizer, two weeks after the second dose of Moderna, 15 days after the second dose of AstraZeneca and two weeks after Johnson. . & Johnson ”dose.

In addition, the restrictions do not apply to people with relapse if 180 days have passed since the diagnosis of COVID-19 disease (detected both after PCR testing and after antigen testing). It is true that in the EU digital COVID certificate, the fact of recurrence is recorded only after a positive result of the PCR test.

If a person does not meet the prescribed vaccination or relapse deadlines, a negative test is required no earlier than 72 hours before arriving in Lithuania. Before traveling, you are also subject to isolation.

From the beginning of June, such a certificate can be withdrawn in about ten EU countries, and all Community and Schengen countries should join the system by the beginning of July.

Those who arrive in Lithuania and have an EU digital COVID certificate are currently screened in the usual way, as are those with a national document confirming the fact of vaccination or relapse. By July 1, the Registration Center plans to provide a digital verification app that scans the QR code.

The COVID digital certificate contains only the necessary basic information: name, date of birth, relevant information about the vaccine, test or disease, and a unique identifier. Visiting countries cannot store this information. The validity and authenticity of the certificate will only be certified for verification purposes. All health data will remain at the disposal of the Member State that issued the digital certificate.

The EU digital COVID-19 certificate for Lithuanian residents will be intended not only for travel to EU countries, but also for power within the country, providing the same advantages as the passport of opportunities. However, for the time being, Lithuanian residents are encouraged to use the passport for internal use due to a simpler selection process and less stringent requirements for vaccinated people.
